Re: What is your type?

In V/N and romace options in other games, who is pursued depends entirely on what character I'm playing and whichever romance-able catches on with the first interesting dynamic in the plot. (The plot... that is, the one I make up in my head for the protagonist... =_=; ) I love to get ALL the endings...

Re: Pick the forum members' brains for your game :)

Not to be feminist or anything, but we must admit male body is physically better than female. That's why all sports (that I know) is divided by gender. Now I want to know what sports (all kind of sports) that doesn't have this division. Meaning males and females are mixed up. Or if there is one, sp...

Re: Intellectual property, characters, and the VN community

You already know how I feel, and I can go into greater detail with that if asked, but is there anybody who feels like my partner does? Struggling with insecurities of a character in the hands of a demented FanArtist? Yes. And it's not even the prospect of "demented" fan works that make me...

Re: Intellectual property, characters, and the VN community

The odds are that no one will do fanart or fanfiction of your characters unless your audience grows large. And even then, they are usually positive and supportive things rather than an attempt to sabotage your work. For this reason, there is little reason to be paranoid about showing off your work ...

Re: Intellectual property, characters, and the VN community

I'm on your side of the isle. I would never in a million years balk at someone doing fan-fiction based on my work. If anything, I'd encourage it. Although I think your partner is (for lack of a better word) crazy, I think you should have been clear about your goals from the get-go. It may seem like...

Re: Intellectual property, characters, and the VN community

I think it falls under assumed consent. they gave you permission to make your game with their characters and were fine with you using them. They also knew that there was a possibility of the game making it to the net. They only have cold feet this close to launch. (Not a Legal Expert but this pops ...

Re: Intellectual property, characters, and the VN community

Hope your partner isn't a member of this forum. I'd be pretty pissed if I saw my team-mate slagging me off publicly. What I read is that you are okay with something and your partner isn't comfortable with it, so they are obviously wrong, and should be ridiculed for it. Ah, sorry if it came off that...

Intellectual property, characters, and the VN community

I have never been one of those artists who jealously proclaim 'MY CHARACTER COPYRIGHT ME DON'T STEAL' and all shenanigans therein. I've a philosophy of open idea sharing and utilizing tropes to whatever advantage a creator can muster - if that means someone else can do better things with a character...

Re: Ching's [Suckish] Art Dump

item one: DON'T BE SO DOWN ON YOURSELF. That castle image alone is way more detail than I've ever been able to apply to a scenic piece. Instead of saying things like 'suckish' and 'ugly' you could simply admit that you haven't been drawing a lot and these are early examples of your skill - which you...

Re: Inclusivity in games

That's all that I mean by inclusivity - opening a POSSIBILITY at no harm to the storyline or gameplay - whether a gender, race, origin, what-have-you, for both dating sims and games that simply offer romancing and dating as a side-appeal. This is, essentially, a potentially great method for having ...

Re: Inclusivity in games

What are you guys means by inclusivity? Is it something like this? - male and female protagonist - 3 date-able boys, 3 date-able girls, all of them are bisexual. Technically, that WOULD appeal to a larger crowd. It'd be more complicated to code and write, and I'm not saying a game with so many opti...

Re: Guestbook

It's still on a very rough phase. It basically revolves around gang/mafia-like action stuff, deception, espionage, seduction, political and business conflict, wine production, love for family and companionship. I'm not even sure if I would finish it. Um. Yes. Yes times all the stars in the sky, you...

Re: What is your specialized genre?

Dialogue. ._ . It's not a genre, but I seriously write everything and anything, and one aspect always shines through/captures my best efforts and that's dialogue. In narration, I've taken to falling back on 1st POV just because I want to use character voice at every available turn. I've considered c...

Re: How offensive is swearing?

Ah! *raises hand* I know why the f-bomb has greater impact in the phrase than any other word! It's the rhyme of the short U in all three - shut and up and *uck! So, if you want to keep the impact of the character snapping telling every to shut up, just shuffle the words around or rephrase it to make...

Oho, I seeeeee. Yes that would be useful for static posing. I'd go to TOWN with something like that for avatar-customization. >D
