Re: Flashbulb, but with an image?

Sorry that I didn't reply to this, I've been out of the game for a while. I'm back at it though and I tried DonMai's method and it worked, except that I need to find some way of stretching that image to screen size as well, can you fit that into that same block somehow, or do you need to define it s...

Re: A Semi-Permanent Button

Sorry that I didn't reply to this, I've been out of the game for a while. I'm picking it up again though and I tried your solution saguaro because I did want to call a label and it seemed like the most straight forward way. It worked perfectly, with the only problem that if you press the button twic...

A Semi-Permanent Button

What I need is a button somewhere at the bottom of the screen for example that will stay there until I tell it to leave, still running other script while it's there. I know there is a way for things like an inventory screen and stuff like that with a screen overlay with a frame, but I don''t need a ...

Flashbulb, but with an image?

Once again, it's probably really simple, but I cannot find it. Is it possible to use the flashbulb effect, only not with a colour, but with an image? I want it to have a black background whith a red "cut" flash the moment my character cuts someone down, but I don't know if it's possible. I...

Re: On Asking Questions

On the subject of forum "etiquette", is there like a rule of thumb for the amount of questions you can ask in a certain amount of time? Of course searching the forum gives many answers that you need, but I often find it hard to formulate a question in such a general way that it yields the ...

Re: combining queue and flash commands

This worked! Thank you!
Little side question, what does the "hard" argument do? I couldn't find it in the link you added.
Thanks again!

Re: combining queue and flash commands

Oh, I just noticed that the sound file does play if I code it like this, it was only when I started adding other freaky things to get it right that it suddenly dissapeared. Sorry for the misinformation. The other problem still stands though.

Re: combining queue and flash commands

Thanks! I've been messing around with Ren'py for a while now and only just realised I had never used the forum for this kind of stuff before, so I thought I'd give it a shot. Thanks for the advice.

combining queue and flash commands

In a story I'm making I have a guy with a knife running up to another person with a gun. The other person shoots, but does not prevent the first person to cut him down. Since I don't want to describe any of this in text, I wanted to do it with sound effects and the flashbulb and I figured it would h...
