Re: Notes, Sketches, Maps - how do you plan them?

Oh, I love this. I look at creating stories like solving a puzzle, and that's what makes it fun for me. Once I get a good idea for a story, I like to listen to a playlist of music and try to get these "music videos" in my mind. With really passionate or emotional songs, I'll see some reall...

Re: Ideas for icons to represent certain abstract concepts

I don't really know what kind of mood you are looking for but here are some basic things I could think of off the top of my head. Knowing the mood could help a lot, though, because if it's childish/cute, you could use icons that you wouldn't use in a horror game, and icons you'd use in a childish/cu...

Re: Perfect recipe for a sympathetic immoral main character?

Motivation is very important, but so too is presentation. Presentation. That was the word I was looking for as well along with motivation. Definitely agree with that, everyone can see a story from so many sides. If you present a story from the villain's side or the perspective of someone close to t...

Re: Perfect recipe for a sympathetic immoral main character?

I guess I should say a bit more. The VN is about the MC being very immoral for most of the story, commit a terrible act somewhere along the way (no later than the middle of the story), and may redeem and get spared in the climax (good end), or descend further and finally have to pay (bad end). Obvi...

Re: Perfect recipe for a sympathetic immoral main character?

Personally, I can forgive pretty terrible characters if I know the reason they are like that and they have a lot of depth. Morality is relevant. We need to know WHY they committed those acts. Example: A man robs a store a gun point. [/b] From that sentence alone, most people imagine this thuggish, l...

Re: Psst. You. Let's talk about stylistic choices.

In one word, I'd describe my style as future-anachronistic. Hey, a hyphen makes it one word, right? Or otherworldly. I like clashing styles in terms of time periods or dress styles, like a little bit in the future, but with influences from the past. My inspiration comes from pretty much the best of ...

Re: What is your specialized genre?

I'm big into psychological/societal commentary and fantasy genres. Most of my stories except one involve serious adult themes, but the one that seems to have the most adult content is more a commentary on society. I love using symbolism. I'm not a huge fan of slice-of-life or regular romance types, ...

Re: Guestbook

Hi, everyone. You can call me either Kei or Jelly/Jellyfish. I'm from the US and have been working on a project almost obsessively for a while now. I love mixed media projects and although this will be my first actual visual novel, I have experience in film making, video editing, advertising and mar...
