Re: How do you do? Can you give me feedback..?

to answer your questions: Is my art fit for this sorta thing? >I don't know, is it? People will look for the type of art they think is right. Somewhere out there in this world someone might, but it's not a definite yes/no thing at the moment. Should I try and offer my services? >Unless you get a met...

Re: Improving in a short amount of time?

Drawing a lot doesn't really help you improve faster. It's more like drawing and understanding your mistakes that help you improve. When you make a piece, think to yourself 'what's wrong with this thing? How can I make it look better?' If people critique your work and they say 'the foot's off by a l...

Re: Rinima's Art thread (crit requested)

I can see you're consistent and working towards improving, but a lot of what I see is half finished. I think one thing you can work on is be brave and post complete works more often. It won't be a perfect piece, but when completed we can help you out on everything from parts of anatomy to coloring (...

Re: 「Nay's art stuff」(critiques / feedback welcome!)

You have a tendency to draw your legs slanted to the right. Draw a straight line down from the middle of nose/chin if it helps. It's not that obvious, but it seems like a common trend in all your sprites. Sometimes their thighs are kind of on the skinny side.

Novice Looking for Art Direction

I wanna try and be a sprite artist, but lack the knowledge of actually being one. I hope that if you guys check out my work and someone likes it, I can collaborate and have a lot of direction to know how the big people do it. I still charge for my sprites though, even though I'm new, I just er...hav...

Re: What would you like to see in Visual Novel Portfolio?

Phoenix, i'm asking myself the exact same question! *follows thread* Although partly related to visual novels, I'm an illustrator, and one thing you should not do is to find an epic awesome piece you spent years on and post it in your portfolio unless you think you can pump out the exact same qualit...

Re: Looking for help with shading/anatomy (PAID)

for a bit I thought you meant shade as in shade all your characters. My rough work is definitely not going to suit your suave work. I can help with anatomy though, but not really with the way you're coloring without screwing everything up. Sorry, count me out, I think there is someone more qualified...

Re: How long did it take?

I would say a lot of what's been said before (realism, anatomy, that fun stuff), but here are some tips to keep you motivated and continue what you're doing: 1) If someone says your work is 'good' that doesn't mean it's the best. It just means it's good, and needs to get better. 2) Don't always beli...

Re: Looking for help with shading/anatomy (PAID)

I am interested, but my shading will be with markers. Here's my DA: http://pineapple-pocky.deviantart.com/gallery/
Most of the things on this page were colored in marker as well: http://jackieloart.storenvy.com/collect ... 554-prints
I hope the images can convince you I know anatomy as well.

aw you guys are so sweet T_T Actually I asked coz all they said was ugly without explanation (just wanted to make sure I was on the right track) Storywise, we are just trying to break out the norm of what 'regular gamers' are considered--not all of us are rage angry players, some of us are on the ot...

Re: Hairstyle Choices [Critique Please]

I see this trend with messy stray hair. If that person is elegant, you need to think about how much he takes care of himself, as a contrast to your other character who isn't. Of course, any hairstyle for anything could do, but also consider how their facial expressions can affect how the character c...

Re: Night Filter

one extra trick after doing background is to change the tint of the characters on screen, or even re-shade it so it looks like the shadows are tinted the same as the background (so if it's dark, then their shadows are more purple)

Re: Angeliza's art samples! Helpful criticism welcome!

Just because one artist uses a specific program to emulate what they like, doesn't mean that you have to follow their path and use the exact same programs or tools at all :) You seem like you're off to a good start, just keep practicing. As a challenge, try drawing something other than faces. Like b...
