Re: LiveComposite Blink and Lip Flap Error
I'll try placing the code in its separate rpy file to see if that will work. Otherwise it breaks my images. Edit: Code sometimes has the simplest fixes. the init python was correct, and I just needed to de-indent my image tags to fix them. Eye blinks and mouth moving is good. I just need to tweak va...

Re: Trying to overlay separate face expressions onto a sprit
Upon trying to run this livecomposite script, I received an error: init-2: define maya = Character(None, callback=speaker("maya"), color="#5AD0D8", what_outlines = [(1, "#000000", 0, 0)], what_color="5AD0D8", what_prefix='【Maya】 「', what_suffix='」') # This is ...

Re: Trying to overlay separate face expressions onto a sprit
It may be outdated code, but a basic search came across the Blink and Lip Flap code that also uses live composite. It seems simple enough and does both mouth moving and eye blinking, which is exactly what I'm trying to replicate. Since I've gotten sprite switching down with livecomposite, I'll move ...

Re: Trying to overlay separate face expressions onto a sprit
I think I understand the idea of livecomposite, though I'll have to experiment in renpy to ensure I'm writing the code right. I'm redoing one of my characters right now with separated eyes, eyebrows, and mouths to do a test. I guess my question now is, how I would I write an animation of eyes blinki...

LiveComposite Blink and Lip Flap Error [Fixed]
Skip to most recent post for relevant error or check out the bottom of this post. I'm sure this is a simple fix but I'm still stumped after browsing some of the wiki documentation. I basically have a few body sprites with a default face already put together into one png file, then I have over a doz...

So, does that mean Jean Brookes is a romance heroine? Any reason on the updated designs? Hers is particularly radical, but I like it!

Re: First-person Life Simulation (An idea of mine)
Sims has gone past life simulation to a much more casual experience with magic and robots. Besides, it is very lighthearted, not like the game you are proposing that is a "serious" retelling of life.

Re: First-person Life Simulation (An idea of mine)
What is the point? What would drive the player to do something in a game they have to do in real life? If you have to game the mechanics to make it fun, then it defeats the purpose of the game anyway.

Re: First-person Life Simulation (An idea of mine)
There are MMOs like Second Life or Cyworld that aim to replicate real life in its mechanics.

Re: My Little Dictator [War][Romance]
I am greatly anticipating this game. I suppose the Advance War sprites you have are being used as mockups until you get custom assets? As a fan I recognized them immediately as being considerably fitting. As a history buff I was interested in the project. As a design student interested in using VNs ...

Re: Writers Recruitment - VN: Stained with Magic
How far along are you in the project? What position do you play in the team? How big is the team and what other roles have already been filled? How long are you expecting the novel to be as far as words/content (broad idea)? Is it simply a VN or are there other game mechanics? And lastly, are any of...

Re: Sierra Ops[Space][War][BxG][Game x VN]
Those beta testers are lucky people. The game is looking great! Excited to hear more about what kind of characters we are looking at, specifically the heroines.

Re: What made you want to be a visual novelist?
I like visual novels and the idea behind them. I love to write and tell stories. As a designer, being able to use this engine and learn scripting is a valuable tool. In certain ways, a visual novel is easier and more fun to write than an actual novel, and I desire to bring interactive experiences to...

Re: Rising Angels: Reborn [GxG/GxB] [sci-fi]
Hello, If you are interested in another editor to look over your scripts I would be willing to work with you. At my University I write film scripts and help edit other students to help them out. Since I am on this forum I am interested in building a visual novel, and am in the process of doing so, b...

Re: VN but one-way all the same
The entire point of a KN is that the player does not interact with the story but experience it through a visual medium. That said, you can have a VN that has only ending but give choices to the player that subtly influence the dialogue or tone of the ending in order to feel as though they had an imp...
