Broken Arabic even with config.rtl = true

Hi, I'm facing problems with Arabic writing on the latest version of Ren'Py (6.99.12.4.2187). I tried following the instructions in this thread and even tried asking further and got no response, so I thought I'd make a new thread explaining my problem in detail since it seems to be a different probl...

Re: how to add my own language !?

I don't know enough about Persian to know if Ren'Py supports it or not. I'd suggest trying: init python: config.rtl = True style.default.font = "persian-font.ttf" But I'm not sure if the Arabic/Hebrew RTL support will work with Persian. I tried doing that with the latest version of renpy,...

Re: How to make a loopable animation after a particular fram

You want a block statement: https://www.renpy.org/doc/html/atl.html#block-statement something like: image animation: 'frame 1.png' 0.2 'frame 2.png' block: 0.2 'frame 3.png' 0.2 'frame 4.png' repeat It will show first two frames and then repeat frames 3 and 4. This worked! thanks a lot! edit: okay ...

How to make a loopable animation after a particular frame?

Hi, There's an animated sprite I made with two separate animations, one that starts the animation and the other loops after. I've had two solutions (neither of which I know how to do and would appreciate the help): - Make two separate image labels and tell renpy to play one after another (I tried sh...

Re: Art Learning Resources

I'm wondering if anyone here would find this useful, the Metropolitan Museum of Art now has 464 free artbooks for download on their site. Loads of good art references for those who need it:

Re: Switching focus on characters? (help)

I posted that around 4AM my time, I came to realize that if they're shaded and animated the screen is going to be very busy. The second link will be very useful for what I have in mind, if only I can find a way to catch the last frame of the animation of the inactive character(s) P.S. @Donmai You te...

Re: Switching focus on characters? (help)

Sorry that I had to reply so late, both options you posted seem good for static images but not animated ones. (sorry for not making it clearer in the original post)

Switching focus on characters? (help)

I tried every possible way to search for this and failed so I apologize if the solution is already out there and is worded better than I tried to. My game has scenes where there are more than two characters on screen in one go, with text it would be very difficult to see who's talking and was consid...

Re: Art Dumpage! Show your art ^^

I've always like heavy, thick shadows like the ones Mike Mignola has in his art. A lot of the art I'm confident of consists of that http://i.imgur.com/zCaRykV.png?3 http://i.imgur.com/z300uX2.png?1 http://i.imgur.com/8bJ0Zuc.png?2 http://i.imgur.com/l25efE6.png?1 This one is from my current game htt...

Re: This is going to sound a little odd..

What you're going through sounds rough, but you're not alone in this. As many others here mentioned, making smaller games could help out. I made an entire write up to help in keeping focus on a project on a different thread that could help. If you want to look at smaller scaled games to see what you...

Re: Getting back on your feet.

I found that overthinking and worrying is what burns me out with staying focused, it is a very common problem so don't feel bad about it. We all feel you. While working on my project, I've come through a few hurdles that slowed me down but was able to find a few solutions to fix it, whenever ...
