Re: Any interest in creating visual novels using Unreal 4?
Ok, super sorry for the really long wait. To be honest I just stopped checking this post about a week after posting it. And then I checked it again a few days ago and saw some yes responses and felt bad I kept you waiting. So I finally started the series over here https://m.youtube.com/playlist?list...

Re: Any interest in creating visual novels using Unreal 4?
1. I agree thats it's overkill for anything simple, but if you want to add any gameplay stuff at all, it's way better than something like renpy. And using 3D backgrounds makes it easier to have stuff animating in the background. I've always found it kind of jarring when stuff in the background that ...

Any interest in creating visual novels using Unreal 4?
I decided to switch engines when this plug-in for Unreal 4 came out https://forums.unrealengine.com/community/community-content-tools-and-tutorials/1424923-open-source-dialogue-system-plugin It occurred to me that many people might not even have considered Unreal for making visual novels, or if they...

Re: How to add imagemap to texbox?
You may be referring to this . It's a great tutorial for adding imagebuttons to your textbox, but the process should be similar for imagemaps. This would accomplish what i'm going for i suppose. Problem is i get errors when i try to do it. oh well, i'm sure after staring at his code for a bit i'll ...

How to add imagemap to texbox?
Hello, I'd like to add some imagemaps over my texbox. I want them to show up when the texbox is there, and go away when it's not. Does anyone know how to do this? I think I remember seeing a topic about something similar...but after about 30 minutes of searching I gave up and decided to just ask for...

Re: How to add an intro clip at the beginning of a game
Is there some sort of a different way to do it with avi files? cause it won't play my avi file for me for some reason. it just skips over it.
edit: my video is 5 seconds and 800x600 btw, in case it matters.

Re: Voice Acting: Yeah or Nay?
Personally I like it when there is voice acting in a game, regardless of how bad it is (unless it's so bad that some little girl has a super deep voice or something). Thing is though, when I play a game with voice acting, I always let them finish speaking even though I read super fast, so that drast...

Kerning and Tracking
So I'm not too sure if this was already asked but I kind of doubt it because most people will probably have no idea what I'm talking about (I think) but is there any way to change the kerning and tracking of the letters in Ren'py? For those that don't know, what I'm talking about is sort of like, th...

Re: Need personal art requester (I do the art free!)
err...random question, are you using a mouse to draw? unless you're doing vector art, i wouldn't suggest using a mouse. even then it's not as good as using a tablet imo. you might want to consider doing your art on paper and just scan it

Re: How to make the characters?
Pretty sure what most people do is draw the character digitally, and do everything on a separate layer. as in, anything that's a different color gets it's own layer, that way it's easy to manipulate later. Everything about the face gets it's own layer too, so when you made your first character, you ...
