Ahi ahi ahi, the pickle module doesn't work

It work for other projects I'm working with. So probably depend on the structure. It's so complex that I can't post examples. Could be: label main_menu: return being responsible? If not, what else? I'm sorry, but an uncaught exception occurred. While running game code: File "renpy/common/00keymap.rp...

Re: No love for development? 💔

A developer is a mix of designer, team manager and coder. When you think "I want to do a game about that, with those features" you're acting as the developer. When you call the artist at 3:00 pm to ask for the sprite, you are the developer. When you decide that Maruko have blue hair as blue is trend...

Re: Some questions about FileAction

It was an iterator, in the slot screen. # Display ten file slots, numbered 1 - 10. for i in range(1, columns * rows + 1): # Each file slot is a button. button: action FileAction(i) xfill True In python, you use an iterator in the for... cycles. In this case, the iterator is "i" and go from 1 to colu...

Re: Some questions about FileAction

Oh, finally I understand. RENPY SAVE EVERYTHING, all the variables are saved. But you can't read the values before the game is loaded. DON'T CHANGE THE CORE SCRIPT or when updating Ren'py your changes will disappear. Use JSON functions to store extra data inside an "archive" (please note: IS NOT ARC...

Re: Font does not change.

MAYBE you're using the new gui theme. And MAYBE you pasted that code in config.rpy, without changing the gui.rpy. If that the case, remove those lines, and change instead these ones you find in gui.rpy: ## Fonts and Font Sizes ######################################################## ## The font used...

Re: (Question) Make a loading screen before entering the sce

I'm using it in that very exact moment, new GUI and Linux. Work perfectly as intended. Just created a presplash.png, and dropped in the game folder (not the images, the game, where there are scripts). ("new gui" means nothing, the core is the same whatever, legacy or new, you use). Which renpy vers...

Re: Word Count!

I'm reaching the wonderful goal of a complete game with...
NO DIALOGUE LINES AT ALL!

My lint say 0 lines of dialogues.

Everything managed by variables, called screens and conditionals.
A Ren'Py tour de force.

Re: Grid xfill/yfill confusing me

mumble... you have to declare the size of the contained elements.
The grid IS stretched in both directions, but doesn't add void space on his own.
The squares are all equal the largest element in the grid, spaced by the spacing property. Nothing else.

Re: (Question) Make a loading screen before entering the sce

@Mugen: Hi Uncle! Nice to see ya! You can simply put an image in the game folder called "presplash.png". Just that, really, Ren'py automatically show it in the "loading" phase. No coding. If it goes too fast, use this: define config.minimum_presplash_time = x.x where x.x are the minimum seconds the ...
