Re: Emofuri?

So I asked this in another thread which got locked (because it was more appropriate to post in this thread), but has anyone here actually used EmoFuri in a game yet? I haven't yet, but in theory, you can use EmoFuri in a game using Visual Novelty, as Novelty supports video imports, and EmoFuri allo...

CmapTools - A Program for Branching Path Stories

Hi everyone, I recently found a useful free program for mind-mapping. It's called CmapTools. I felt like this could be used for planning/organising branching paths for visual novels, as it allows you complete freedom to move notes around (unlike other mind-mapping programs I've seen). I've downloade...

Re: Emofuri?

This looks pretty cool. Only problem I have is boobs jigging all over the place which is just down-right infuriating for me. I feel like the creatures of this program have no idea what the function of a bra is ;~; Luckily, you can assign the boob physics to jewelry, or just take it straight out. :3...

Question: Hoykeys for Novelty VNs?

Does anyone have a complete list of all the hotkeys for a Visual Novelty-made VN? So far, these are the in-game hotkeys I've found: Hold Ctrl: Fast forward text Alt: Pause Spacebar/Left mouse click: Move forward Specifically, I'm wondering if there's a "go back to past test" hotkey (like t...

Re: Difficulties with titles and Characters...

Titles should help tell the reader what the story is about, and what tone it has. For example, pick a keyword/theme that has to do with the genre/plot of the story (eg. If the story is a Western, try a keyword like "Cowboy") Then, take that keyword, and add to it in a way that explains the...

Re: What to do after 'bad end' endings

I like the way the Nancy Drew games do it. After a bad ending, the player is given a choice to load a previous save, or the "Second Chance" button. The Second Chance option takes the player to the last choice just before the bad ending.

Re: How do you remove the grey toolbar in Novelty?

Thank so much you for your help.

I'm still curious though to know if there's any way to remove the grey bar without using full-screen mode.

How do you remove the grey toolbar in Novelty?

I'd ask in Novelty's forum, but my account still hasn't been activated. How do you remove the grey toolbar (located at the top of the screen when your visual novel is played; see image attachment) in Novelty? This toolbar is not needed, as a custom menu contains all its utilities (save/load/quit), a...

Moral Dilemma Ideas

The Walking Dead and The Wolf Among Us are both well-known for having moral dilemmas that the player has to make a choice on (such as who to save, who to believe, and who to lie to). I'd like this thread to discuss and list possible moral dilemmas in situations in a VN. Examples I've come up with so...

Re: Katy133's Art Styles

To answer another question - I like your drawing style, but I think there could be some more fluidity in your inking lineweights (the digital work). Is it done using the pen vector tool in Photoshop/Illustrator or another program? For the characters from my VN, I used the line/curve tool in Paint T...

Re: The Journey of Ignorance

When you save a game at some points in the game and load it again from the main menu... the game will load and everything except for the BG Graphics. Thank you so much for spotting that! I've gone back and fixed what I could of the background error (I did this by replacing the default black backgro...

Katy133's Art Styles

Hi, I would like some critique on my art styles. Mainly, I would like to know: - What areas do you think I should concentrate to improve on (weaknessess), - What you like about my artwork (colour use, styles, concepts of what my art shows, strengths, etc), - What art styles I've used that you like/t...

Re: How do you animate?

What free programs are there? I'm an animator, and so far I've used the following programs for 2D animation: - Pencil Check Pro (good for quickly figuring out/experimenting the timing of the animation) - After Effects (good for cut-out style animation) - Photoshop (CS6) - Adobe Flash - Flip-Boom Al...
