Re: Exaggerating Characters for Readability
I believe that every story is a remix of something else. We don't write stories in a bubble. They are zeitgeist. They are of the time they were written in. Every story is the culmination of every story told previously. Every sci-fi today was either directly inspired by Moebius, or indirectly related...

Re: Writing VN's with story structure different than "hero journey"
Red on an episode of Trope Talks did a great video on the Hero's Journey, and discussed why it's important to know about this structure, but why it's not good to use it to brainstorm the first draft of your story.

Re: Is Lemmesoft Dying
This kinda reminds me of a 2014 video by Mike Falzone about an article that discussed if Twitter was dead. Like PyTom put it, have changes in their life like graduating, changing careers, or getting married. So while there's dips in interaction, I think they'll also be rises from new people discover...

Re: Having multiple writers: How to be consistent?
From my experience, the big obstacle with staying consistent is that you need to find writing partners who will come to your visual novel's story with the same mindset. One of the reasons why Good Omens is described as one of the greatest collaborative novels in modern English literature. It was wri...

I'm using a Blue Snowball and I love it. It's noticeably improved the quality of my voice recording.

Re: Is changing frequently the mood of a scene a bad practice?
I'd recommend watching Bob Larbey's work (particularly the television series As Time Goes By and Mulberry ) and studying the dialogue in them. These series are able to switch between comedy and heartfelt moments in a very natural way. Bob Larbey is one of if not my favourite screenwriter ever, and h...

Re: Opinions regarding 3DCG VNs
I'm a professional CG animator, so here is my take on this: Many EVN developers have to work on a budget, so if 3D art is used, it will either have to be done by the developer (1 person), or they will hire 1 person to do the 3D art. This is very different from, say, a tv series production where ther...

Re: Bigger budget games?
You may be able to get a more solid idea of VN budgeting by looking through visual novel Kickstarters and looking at their budgeting pie charts. Compare the budgets and look at which Kickstarters finished making their VNs, and how large those projects were. If the developers include their social med...

Re: Programs for Organizing Scripts and Notes?
Thank you all so much for your advice! I tried using LibreOffice at first, but the lack of collapsible headers and the lack of smooth scrolling (on a trackpad) was unbearable. Then I tried Google Docs, but I didn't like how it required the internet to sync/load up properly, and it doesn't include a ...

Re: Recommended EVNs for those who've never read/played them before
I'd recommend The Blind Griffin. It's very well-written, has beautiful art and music, and I really liked how the choices affected the multiple endings for each route.
