Re: Gryphos' written ramblings, critique welcome

Thank you so much, this criticism is very much appreciated. And the whole idea of 'showing and not telling' is something I'll definitely try and work on. The grammar mistakes are just anomalies, usually I remember about the capitals after speech, but there's always the occasional lapse. Also, I'm g...

Re: Gryphos' written ramblings, critique welcome

Well, you said that critiques are welcomed, so I hope I haven't gone overboard or anything like that. After all the specific stuff, I've written just some general observations. Specific Stuff A roaring fire, warming and bright, but comforting not . This sounds either like you're trying to be unneces...

Re: Challenge Me Plzz (and critique, if you can)

Here's something of a prompt:

MC is out deep sea fishing, when he/she has the an extremely arduous battle with whatever's on the other end of the line. When he/she manages to drag it on board, it isn't at all what anyone expected.

Monsters, mermaids, do what you like, if you want to use it.

Re: Visual Novels: Should We Abandon the Term? And How?

I've always known Visual Novels as just that, a story told with both text and images, using a digital medium. I've always had another name for any of those 'badly drawn porno' things, which are to me either the bad kind of Dating Sims or Otome Games (where the whole point is to wrack up points with ...

what should be capitalized? XD
I think Val3rie is talking about when you're using the personal pronoun 'I', as in 'I am'. Not every time you use the letter, just then.

Re: Goddess mark [GxB][Fantasy, VN, Adventure]

Oh wow, this looks really good! Your art is so pretty  As to the questions: One: I think it'd be nice if you gave a bit more detail about the plot/story. It's already intriguing, but it'd be cool to know a bit more. Two: I don't think you really need to describe the guys more. It wouldn't hur...

Re: planning a character who uses sign language

This is an interesting problem... Since you say that the MC won't actually understand any of it to begin with, then I'd say that if you maybe just gave his sprite a few (not too many, maybe three?) different poses/hand gestures, and then went with the "Oh gosh, he's making stabbing gestures wit...

Re: Does anyone have an opinion on Oxford (serial) commas?

Ah, the irregularities and inconsistencies of English... Really, these days it's all about preference and basically what you think 'feels' right (unless as Kasumi said you're writing for a publisher that wants it a specific way; different publishing houses can have specific requirements when it come...

Re: What was your first story?

The earliest, proper thing I can remember writing--and finishing--was when I was maybe about eleven, and I wrote it for school. I believe it was about two pages long. It was about a car that broke down, and the passengers, one of which I remember was called General, tried to fix it. In the end the e...
