I love horror games so I wish you the best of luck!
I'm not gonna lie though, I can tell by looking at the title picture that you mainly worked on light fluffy things. The image made me think this is going to be a really cute game with horror elements. I think it's the bow and ribbon.

Re: Traverse the Multiverse (Action Adventure, GXG) [NaNo15]
Hey, this sounds cool! Zombies + dimensional travel = Traverse the Multiverse , it would seem. I'm looking forward to learning more about Traversers and the world(s) they inhabit. :) Thanks for your interest! The flesh eaters are more like really mild versions of eldritch abominations than zombies....

Re: Recruitment!
I'm currently doing everything for a project except the music. I'm looking for a musician who can make 7 custom tracks (or less) for my NaNoRenO entry. Email me on lemmasoft with a private message if you're interested. I am willing to negotiate prices and see how much you charge. My project thread i...

Single romance route VS Multiple romance routes
How does the design of the visual novel change when it's a single romance versus multiple routes? For most multiple route games, I enjoy the variety, the extra stories, and it definitely gives the VN replay value. The attention grabbing thing about multiple routes is the options the player can have ...

Hey Obscura, I want to congratulate you for releasing this game. I've been waiting for it for 2 years and watching the process of it happening was exciting. I was incredibly impressed at how fast you improved at drawing in one of the old threads. Not to mention that you didn't let Steam's Greenlight...

Visual Novels are a genre not a medium
Okay, I know we argued about the whole topic "Can Visual Novels be considered video games?" and you're all groaning at the fact that I'm re-opening this can of worms, but hear me out. In games, we have, I believe, several different kinds: Board games, sports, video games, on-the-spot games...

Re: Romance VNs/Dating Sims are dubious manipulation games?
I think there are two kinds of manipulation being spoken of here. One is the manipulation inherent in games in general (unless we're talking kinetic novels), where you manipulate the system to get to specific outcomes. The other is the crass manipulation of relationships in many VNs. A different be...

Re: Romance VNs/Dating Sims are dubious manipulation games?
They are manipulation games, but it's such a pointless designation because all games are about manipulation- manipulating the world, manipulating the actors in it. When I throw something in Thief I'm manipulating the guard to hear the noise and get out of my way so I can sneak past. When I choose t...

Re: Static sprites vs. dynamic sprites?
Actually, do you ever see a real person standing exactly still for hours? Besides, those sprites aren't standing still because the artist/programmer makes them so, not Live2D. The sprites aren't idle for hours, they're constantly moving in seconds. When I talk to people, I pay attention to their bo...

Re: Romance VNs/Dating Sims are dubious manipulation games?
If you want to remove the "manipulation" aspect, then remove anything like social links, or points you score when you increase their relationship, or even "correct" choices when talking to them. Just make all the choices equally valid and resulting in different situations, and m...

Romance VNs/Dating Sims are dubious manipulation games?
I was reading on this subject before and it always bothered me in the back of my mind when I read this part of Christine Love's interview: http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2014/01/06/in-the-name-of-loves-next-game-ladykiller-in-a-bind/ “Sort of like dating sims or the Persona games’ social links, but...

Re: Does a long intro disinterest you?
I hate text dumps on a screen where Old Man Narrator reads to me the epic that happened before the start of the current epic. YAWN

Re: Static sprites vs. dynamic sprites?
I prefer the emote one. That looks fantastic. Like watching an anime in your visual novel. I can see that going far. Coupled with voice acting makes it powerful in my opinion. But man, that Live2D one. It's kinda creepy because the girl is constantly nodding. People don't do that in real life unless...
