Re: Guestbook

I admire your motivation, but please make sure you research the long-term effects of plasma donation on your body before you make this a necessary part of your income! (Also note that donating plasma makes a lot of people extremely hungry and you might have to budget more for food as a result.) We ...

Fable of the Dragon-Tyrant: A Parable Against Death

Hey there, how do you do? For my first NaNoRenO project, I'd like to adapt this paper, written as a parable , into VN "NVL" format. (Whom I will credit even before reading begins; in the credits we'll link to his site and the story's original version.) The story is a parable about curing aging and e...

Re: Three writing tips you shoudn't listen to

For now, I'll only comment on the OP post, as its naivete slapped me so silly I could not help but to jump into this feeding frenzy. As such, it's regretful I'm merely reiterating points already made. First of all, ignore writing advice? How do you propose people learn, trial and error? Should we ab...

Re: VN Writing Circles. Interested?

Could have at least mentioned our original discussion was at the IRC. (Or that my high-brow self was the one who brought up writing circles in said discussion :P but you took it to action, so everybody wins) We made another few additional points over there that were good. Besides, it could give #ren...

Re: Recruitment!

Might as well post a TLDR version of my post from last week here: I'm an experienced writer across multiple genres. [/b] A caveat if you want me to write something in a month: Give me a deadline or I'll subject myself to scope creep . Who knows, maybe I'll write your idea for you. Editing and proofr...

Re: Would you play a game without CGs?

If a VN lacks CGs*, it effectively becomes written fiction you scroll through on a computer program. (Or an audiobook, if you so incline.) To put it simply, your writing better be damned good, because there is no pretty sparkly art to stimulate your reader's interest and attention. At that level, we...

Re: Moral Dilemma Ideas

... possible moral dilemmas in situations in a VN. One of the most powerful moral dilemmas --and most recent in the news-- is the Lucifer Effect . As an addendum, may I add the following, as they predate the Lucifer Effect: "The Stanford prison experiment (SPE) was a study of the psychological effe...

Writer and Editor for Hire (up for NaNoReno '14)

Re: What sort of rating does a story like this deserve?

While I don't need to add to the rating question, I would like to add that the themes described have been front and center in YA fiction since at least the 1980s (use "Ctrl + F" and type your theme of choice if it's too long, although I recommend reading it in full.)

Re: Guestbook

Hey there, signing myself up into the VN community. While I am relatively new to this scene, the primary asset I bring to the table is around 8 years of writing experience and advice from the literary community. Perhaps in time I will also polish additional skills on the side as I go further into th...
