Re: Caught in between. Recruiting :)
However, during those three years in High School Masaru and Kenji started to grow apart, Masaru spent more time with his "geek" friends and Kenji spent more time with the jocks. But, they still occasionally go together with Misaki and Shione during lunch and during their walks to and from...

Learn from them and try to apply the techniques in your own work, it would seem... seeing as we cannot find license info. XD

Re: Guess 6.12.0's Name
Ren'Py Foundation? Ren'Py Prelude? Ren'Py Norby? Ren'Py LUCKY STARR. (Or Ren'Py Lucky★Star, which I think it should be titled. Plox. : ) Oh and by the way, this is big news for me. Very excited about this new release. Btw, PyTom, what would be involved in porting it to iOS? The Python framework? Or....

Re: Action Sequences
Auro! :) I haven't been on these forums in too long. I would agree that finding a way to show action with static images is kind of difficult. I haven't played through Chaos;Head but I heard it uses a lot of videos (in combination with static images) - in fact I will see more about that. But other sc...

Re: How DEEP do you research for your VN's?
For my project which takes place in a historical period, I'm lucky enough that I go to a university so I can spend my free time in the library looking for things that can be plausible in my alternate-history visual novel. Therefore, I'm pretty much submerged in research for things I can change with...

Re: Sai's Background Workshop
I do agree that 3D is very difficult to tackle for backgrounds. Perhaps you could use 3D as a reference. I am thinking of doing this for my project where it is absolutely needed.

Re: Character Concepts and Extras
Art looks great! I'd like to know more about the game you're making. Do you have a post somewhere about it or a website? Great. :) Check out the DeviantArt - for now that will serve as our main website. It also has a synopsis. I do have a blog up for the game but I won't be posting on it until we g...

Sounds like you'll just need to rewrite elements from your story to suit multiple dating events. Myself, I'm a fan of kinetic novels...

Re: What's the hardest part about making a visual novel?
I agree with PrettySammy09 in that writing, especially to make a proper branching VN, is extremely difficult. However, almost as difficult is getting a hold of artists. Since that is an area that takes many years of effort and practice. It is the same with writing, but finding an artist that suits t...

Re: autotranslating dialogs
I don't think that automatic translation would be that error-prone, like Google Translate, though. However the one problem I do see is that the translator might end up sounding robotic, while usually writing is in a certain style that best conveys the emotions and ideas that the writer is trying to ...

He mentioned Photoshop, so there's no need to mention GIMP. I always found GIMP's UI to be the most horrible thing to accurse the world of art and graphics. XDlinkdragon0 wrote:GIMP.
It's pretty easy and free, but has a lot of stuff to use. I still haven't used it all yet.
