Re: doing sprites more efficiently?
Hi Mirelle, In a similar boat to you. Using an older Photoshop. I'm stepping back from digital art as I've assessed I'm lacking core art skills even in the traditional arena. Once in a blue moon, I get what I call a "critical hit", boosts my confidence until I realize it was a fluke. Pract...

Re: NaNoWriMo '12
Got as far as 30k. Writing days were plagued with irrational sleep. Would wake up. Go to public places. Fell asleep every 10 min of typing for 10~15 min each time. Went on for five hours, even after switching venues. This continued to happen across several days even with proper rest. Though if I did...

Re: Basic Help (In game menu errors)
I think the code is space sensitive. What I've liked to do is space all of my code maybe three spaces in from the label. I think this lets the program know that all the text spaced in three times is grouped together, like one big block. For a menu, you would have to create another block by adding ev...

Re: No dialogue showing up on screen!
My usual disclaimer: I'm learning myself and offer only a grain of salt. When perusing the customizing textbox thread below, the one thing that caught my eye was the frame dimensions. http://lemmasoft.renai.us/forums/viewtopic.php?f=51&t=9233 Style.window.background = Frame("TextBox.png&quo...

Re: Sprite artist for just one character?
I'm not an artist, but looking at the expressions, would you need a "mad"/ "angry" expression?
Just throwing it out there.

Re: Artist available for commission!
I can highly recommend Kaorien as well. She's pleasant to work with, very responsive on communication, has been very accommodating, and provides great art at affordable rates. I love how she's breathed life into the characters and in turn the project!

Hiya there, Here's some references in the cookbook that might help for the eye blinking: http://www.renpy.org/wiki/renpy/doc/reference/functions/anim.Blink and here for mouth moving: http://www.renpy.org/wiki/renpy/doc/cookbook/Lip_Flap http://www.renpy.org/wiki/renpy/doc/cookbook/Blink_And_Lip_Flap

Re: Game resolution
Moving from Ren'Py 6.8 to 6.14 I think washed away my old fear of why I didn't work at a higher resolution (I remember the screen stretching, now there's just the vertical blank lines). Is there a Ren'Py project that currently supports multiple aspect ratios? I circled around Cinders as a reference,...

Hi Uncle Mugen. If on December 1, you're still looking for an episodal writer of sorts, I can throw in me chips. I'll keep an eye out for pranks that can be warped, twisted, adapted to a younger setting in the meantime.

Re: What are you eating right now?
I have eaten a Fiber One Chewy Bar, Oats & Chocolate flavor. I thought I read that the fiber in-take may curb my appetite (sweet tooth) some.
I can't say the taste was SUPER awesome, but it was a positive taste for the nutritional contents it boasts on its packaging.

Just curious, but what are you guys doing to prepare? You ca...

Re: Focusing on a project vs nurturing new ideas
I guess it depends, but I would say not to nurture the idea too much until your role in the main project is finished. If you have a smartphone with a file synchronization app like Dropbox or Google Drive, I would say open up an "Idea Brainstorm" document and belt out a few things that come...

Re: Sustainable, Episodic and Recyclable short generic VN
I like the idea of episodic content from a creation standpoint. I think as I grow (or decline) in writing, I would like to contribute toward an episode of the trials the two face. I also like the idea of having a suitable amount of art assets that allow for new stories without entirely new art. The ...
