Re: My Art Thread. I want to be come better! Please critique
At this point in time, you might want to try following some tutorials so you can learn coloring techniques and pick up on what you like and don't like to do. Since you seem to be going for a painterly look with bright colors, here's two tutorials that you could look at to start practicing on your dr...

Do you have an example of coloring you want to emulate? For anime/manga style coloring, people's style vary, so it might be a good idea to have a frame of reference/goalpost you want to reach.

Re: Drawing Sprites by Hand?
It all depends on what kind of story you're telling. Is the story going to be humorous, or played straight? What's are the genres? Are you taking on a particular theme? Would the story benefit from the art style you're thinking of??

Re: Drawing Sprites by Hand?
Thanks! I'll keep in mind doing something like that(probably not watercolor though) as a possibility. If I may ask for some opinions, how would you feel about a VN using sprites that were taken from 3d-rendered images edited to look 2d/cartoonish? In my opinion, I'd say you're better off just doing...

Re: MaiMai's Art Thread [Critique Appreciated]
So glad I didn't miss the recent post, they look stunning! I am completely in love with how vibrant the blue gradient is in the first one and the colours in the second one are very sweet. The blue petals (I think they are petals? Forgive me if I'm wrong) don't stand out much, so I think if you coul...

Re: Questions about commission
Most people who order drawing commissions online aren't going to want to deal with shipping and shipping costs, at least for just a paper drawing that could easily get damaged in the mail. That said, if you're doing traditional pencil/pen drawings on paper, you can circumvent the shipping business b...

Re: HI I'M NEW!
Same principle though; it's a good idea to finish a VN type game to show that you have a gist of the medium, and as trooper6 said, to give people an idea of what you're capable of before any collaboration can be formed.

Re: MaiMai's Art Thread [Critique Appreciated]
Been slowing down artwise, but I've been able to draw a few things every now and then. Here are two pieces that are only a few months apart, but it's interesting to see how my CG techniques keep morphing (the pinker one is the more recent one!) Both are colored in Medibang Paint Pro.

I actually decided to doodle your OC because I felt there was some potential for the design. Just gotta practice a lot!

Re: Feedback on concept art?
The first question you should ask yourself is, "What IS the concept I am trying to get across here?" Right now, I just see a picture of an anime styled girl. What is her personality? Is there a backstory for her? Why does she dress the way she does and how does that reflect her personality...

Re: Critique sketches?
I don't think the head is too big, but rather the arms are too small. There are some basic rules for basic anatomy that I think you should look into in regards to constructing the body before adding details. This website I found on Google is pretty thorough and it might help you start thinking about...

Re: MaiMai's Art Thread [Critique Appreciated]
Thank you SwedishJazz. I don't think I'll be changing Ai and Lien's designs anytime soon though since I'm pretty satisfied with their appearance. (they're my long time OCs and they've gone through a lot of design changes already up to this point. I'd best be focusing my energies on different charact...
