learning complex Ren'Py coding?

hopefully im posting this in the right forum and a clear subject too. anyway, so i've managed to get some of the very basic knowledge down (stuff like adding images/music, display BG) but i would like to be able to deal with more complex things for some future projects of mine. those would be thing...

Re: Welcome to the new Recruitment & Services Offered

Just for the sake of clearance, if I'm a translator I should post into the "I'm a Writer, Editor or Proofreader" subsection right?
Even if no one will need a translator :P

Re: Organization in writing?

I think there are various pros and cons to the two methods: What you describe as once doing ("go-with-the-moment", or as I like to call it "opening up a writer's vein") vs. planning out the story and lore in advance, I mean. I've written two different stories using each method, ...

Organization in writing?

I used to write but I took a "break" (procrastination) very long ago from it. Now I wanna get back into it yet again, but for real this time. Now I seek some advice. I used to be a go-with-the-moment writer, meaning I'd type what's in my head and invent lore settings as I write. Is that a ...

Re: Get that thing off your chest... Now...

I hate how much of a procrastinator I've become. I keep failing all the goals I set for myself. Both writing and coding never used to be that hard, now I just ugh...

Re: Shout For Joy, Share Your Happiness

14th birthday here. Everyone around me seem to remember my special days more than I did. It took three persons to remind me. So yay, I'm getting older and still haven't accomplished anything. Hey you're young, there's still plenty of time left to accomplish something :) Meanwhile I'm 17 and accompl...

"Why must it come to an end?" I then proceed to cry heavily and mope around while rewatching it infinitely.

Why not add a Mentor system instead? People could volunteer to help newcomers instead of being admins since those are really busy.

Re: Differences between actual Python and Ren'Py coding

Although Python has its similarities, I don't think it can be used in Ren'Py unless you use a python or init python block. If you're also legitimately finding you want to use Python coding in your game, it may be worthwhile to take a look at Pygame and how it can be used with Ren'Py (if it is still...

Differences between actual Python and Ren'Py coding

So I'm starting to learn the Python language so I can actually do more manipulations on a Ren'Py code(like adding GUI elements, etc...) and I wanted to know what are the differences, if any? Like will all the basic functions from Python work on Ren'Py or does Ren'Py needs a specific coding method? I...

Re: Ideas Wanted!

Will the person that sells you their ideas still have some say(however little it might be) in the game production? I am certainly open to them having ongoing input, but as the deal stands, they would no longer have creative control. That said, there are two other possibilities I see: Someone has a ...
