Re: Ellipses Use
I like seeing all the different opinions on this topic! While I don't think I overuse ellipses in traditional writing, I find myself taking advantage of their use in Visual Novels. See, I love describing how a character says something, or how they look when they something, in line with the dialogue....

Re: What's Your Motivation?
My friend and I got inspired by Katawa Shoujo! We loved it so much that we decided that we wanted to make our own I guess we had always wanted to collaborate on something together(her writing the script, etc; and I would do the art) So this was a perfect opportunity to do so!

Re: Art Dumpage! Show your art ^^
Hey! I'm doing the art portion for a visual novel my friend and I are doing :) I haven't Posted anything yet so I thought this might be a good start! I haven't really done all that much digital art lately so I have a bit of work to do :P If anyone has good like clothing or hair tutorials I'd love to...

Re: BxB, or GxG, or both, which should there be more of?
The reason why I avoid all games labeled "Yuri" and "Yaoi" is because, more often than not, they're treated like porn. Which I'm not interested in seeing. Personally, I would love to read a VN (and I'm sure that there are lots out there) where it's not a Gay Romance—it's a romanc...

Re: IMPORTANT - How do you like your Unlockables served?
What are your thoughts on this? In general, I like unlockable content. Above all, I'm a gamer, so receiving little trophies during a game, or staying until after credits at a movie theatre to see bloopers, end of game extras... I love unlockables. They're an awesome reward for the player. As for th...

Re: What Breaks Your Immersion?
I don't want to be rude or get into the middle of things, I just thought that I should mention that I'm pretty sure Hijiri means something along the lines of "John Doe is pansexual and black" vs "John Doe is a queer POC." Queer and POC are both very broad terms. All you would kno...

Re: How to create an unlock flag after story? TTvTT
What you want is persistent data (something that will show no matter the save/load). You can check it out here , but I think what you want is something like this: #at end of main playthrough $ persistent.mainpath_completion = True And let's say you wanted something at the beginning of the game: labe...

Re: What are you listening to while you write?
Any non-lyrical music, or music with words from a language I'm not familiar with (aka can't listen to French/English songs). My music folder contains classical music, a "This is Halloween" instrumental version in the Halloween spirit, or I'll just go on YouTube and search for gaming OSTs (...

Re: Telltale Games (The Walking Dead, The Wolf Among Us, etc
Hmm, well I actually only played it through once (the 'the good guys win' best ending), so maybe that's why. I keep meaning to play the other endings, but I was emotionally wiped after the first play through and I haven't had free time in ages. Monkey Island is so fantastic... which reminds me that ...

Re: Telltale Games (The Walking Dead, The Wolf Among Us, etc
I haven't actually checked out his other games, so Heavy Rain was a unique experience for me. I think that taking into consideration that there are so few PS3 games that are targeted towards women, or aren't FPS, or war-based games, so I had only played a few PS3 games prior to Heavy Rain (Portal 2,...

Re: Telltale Games (The Walking Dead, The Wolf Among Us, etc
I've played The Wolf Among Us and read the comic that it's based on ("Fables". The game is set as a 'prequel' to the comics.) I should tell you that I avoid anything dark, disturbing, etc. I've never seen a horror movie and I don't plan on ever watching one. I originally avoided TWAU becau...

Re: What Breaks Your Immersion?
- Any spelling and grammar errors - Wonky translations - Art and writing disagreements (Ex. In the opening of Clannad, Nasagi is said to be crying at one point, but the art doesn't show it.) - Over the top exposition - Being blocked from story progression by a sleep requirement (mostly found in Fla...

Re: Would you read fanfiction of your own game/project?
Of course! It'd be an awesome form of flattery. There would be certain ships I wouldn't read, of course, but other than that, it's quite an honour to have fanfiction written based on something you wrote (or oh my gosh, fanart...) The biggest compliment by far would be cosplay, of course. That would ...

Re: Super effective writing tips from Pixar
We were learning storytelling is school, and rules similar to these popped up (especially #16, about raising the stakes). Andrew Stanton, co-writer of the Toy Storys, Monster Inc, and part of other various Pixar movies, gives an excellent Ted Talk about storytelling. Even if you think you know it al...
