Minimizing extra writing

I've been tightening up the outline to the common route of my VN and I noticed something. When I had started out I had a section of choices that would give you points for a particular route and love interest but the characters hadn't been introduced in the route yet. They would be introduced after y...

Re: Best way to start recruiting? - Keeping a team together?

There are two angles on this: prose and VN. From a strictly literary standpoint, ensuring that the audience knows who is speaking is a factor of the writer's skill in a text-only format. Traditionally, you use dialogue tags when it might otherwise be unclear who is speaking, but once you initiate a...

Re: Best way to start recruiting? - Keeping a team together?

Hmm. I'd like to see how that works in ADV, would you be able to tell who is speaking?

What would you suggest for someone that uses traditional character tagged ADV with a mix of NVL during heavy exposition moments?

Re: Best way to start recruiting? - Keeping a team together?

RotGtIE - I'm curious is there a reason that you write in novel format first instead of a screenplay first? Actually, you don't seem to label the characters at all. Which is weird since your sample is ADV. Unless you don't want people to see the names of characters?

Re: Best way to start recruiting? - Keeping a team together?

Every time the screenplay calls for a new asset, I'll open up a tab for the spreadsheet listing those assets and add every new one. As you can see, I use a naming convention which breaks each asset into components, starting with the type of asset (SPRITE/BG/CG/FRAME for illustrations, BGM/SFX for a...

Re: Best way to start recruiting? - Keeping a team together?

I'll adjust the hook when I have time. It's probably more important for me to continue writing. More than a bit. A lot more. The difference is massive. It's not impossible to build your asset planning documents without having a script ready, but I would only suggest it for those who have already gon...

Re: Magnificent-Looking for artists, programmers, other part

Hey! I'd be happy to work with you on composition. I make electronic music with elements of more traditional orchestral music. I have a few examples of what I'm capable of on my soundcloud, and can provide more if requested. Hope to work with you! Hey, WeirdoVivi - I've sent you a PM. We'll discuss.

Re: Best way to start recruiting? - Keeping a team together?

The best thing you can do is complete your script as a standalone novel before everything else. I strongly recommend that your first hire be an editor for your script so that you can get it into a finished state before you start building the project upon it. Once you have your completed script, tak...

Re: Best way to start recruiting? - Keeping a team together?

It does depend on the person, but most people don't say that you have to check in every day as long as you communicate fairly frequently. It also helps to establish standards and stick to them whenever possible. Me, for example: the team that I'm in is working on a VN, but very slowly. We all ackno...

Best way to start recruiting? - Keeping a team together?

It's been a while since I've been here. I haven't been active on my novel thread, but I've been working off and on with the worldbuilding and universe behind my stories. I think I wasn't ready for a big commitment and I knew that trying to get a lot of people to work on my project would be a bad ide...

Editors- How do you prefer to edit a story?

Would you rather read it through the renpy file or a txt document? Also for you experienced writers, which one do you pick often when giving the editor your story?

Update 5# Yes, we are still alive. Sorry for the lack of updates, I've been busy with a lot of things for the last few months. I'm ready to get back into this with full force. I've updated some of our main characters (Robyn and Yoko) with superhero names and aliases. The concept known as ki has been...
