Visual Decision-Tree Software?
Is there anything you guys have run across that allows you to put bits and pieces of your script in such a way that you can easily see branching decisions and where they lead / meet-up? I'm hoping for a free bit of software, but if you're using something that's paid, I'm not entirely opposed. It wou...

Re: Converting a Novella to a Visual Novel (Thoughts?)
Thank you Ookami, that's precisely what I was looking for. I knew (vaguely) of that command, but wasn't sure how to implement it.

Re: Converting a Novella to a Visual Novel (Thoughts?)
The dialogue isn't the hard part for me. That's often my favorite part of (and what I spend the most time on) in any of my written pieces, because I feel it gives the reader an insight into the character, whereas pure narration falls flat. Nevertheless, narration is good for when you need to describ...

Re: Converting a Novella to a Visual Novel (Thoughts?)
@ Taleweaver That's a little how I envisioned this one going. Having a "true" ending that reflects the novella, but write in a few choices that would make small changes to their own particular scenes without disturbing the flow of the story, but would cause the ending to pan out a little d...

Interesting. I'll give those threads a look. Thanks Tempus. It's a lot to think about, lol.

Re: Converting a Novella to a Visual Novel (Thoughts?)
This necessitates rejecting conventions, at least initially—it may turn out a convention in VNs actually works for your project and that's fine. Examples? To be honest, I've only played about 8-9 VN's at this point, and I've honestly found each of them to have something unique unto themselves, so I...

Converting a Novella to a Visual Novel (Thoughts?)
Let me first say that I'm definitely more a writer than I am an artist. I would like to challenge myself to this month's NaNoRenO, in order to push myself to learn Ren'Py's programming language and syntax, while at the same time pushing my artistic boundaries to their maximum. Art aside... How would...

Re: Confused about Screen-size and Fullscreen scaling.
Alright, that's one way to fix it, I suppose. Thank you.
I was hoping I was just missing an editable option, or could insert a couple lines of code to get the screen to scale seamlessly, but can't seem to find what I'm looking for. I guess I'll mark this as solved, then.

Confused about Screen-size and Fullscreen scaling. (Solved)
New here, and with what is probably a dumb question. I tried a general search in this forum for screen size, but returned a lot of technical issues that dealt with any number of screen settings that I know diddly about. I'm just curious what would be a good resolution to set at the beginning of a pr...
Re: Guestbook
Hi-oh! Not sure where this is all going, but figured I'd go ahead and register, for future use. So, basically, I'm an avid reader, and casual writer. Lately, I've been getting into VN's, and have developed a great appreciation for the medium. I decided, some time ago, that I would see just how diffi...
