Potion Stand Story [Free][NaNoRenO2024][Shop Sim][Fantasy]
You and your friend Elly are finally going to WitchCon, for sure this year! There's just one problem... you're both totally broke witches , and it's going to take at least 4000G to pay for the tickets. (And transportation. And an inn room. And food.) Not to worry, though, Elly has a plan: set up sh...

Re: The new renai.us/games.renpy.org support thread.
Hiya, tried to add my finished game to the Ren'py Games List several times today and all I get is 504 Gateway timeouts on https://games.renpy.org/add. Looks like that page is out sick right now LOL

Re: Do you doubt your writing?
Doubt is a good sign. Doubt means you aren't Tommy Wiseau. You think him or Uwe Boll or M. Night Shyamalan or any of the other hacks out there ever asked themselves "is this good?" I mean I guess The Room is its own kind of strange masterpiece, but imagine the kind of ignorance and complet...

Re: Developer Blogs?
I'm a total noob at this, it's my first game and I'm just starting to try to build interest, but I started a blog for Iron Company last month and I just sort of scream into the void whenever I feel the need. I like having a record of my progress because it keeps me from despairing when I feel like I...

Re: Lint "Could not find image" error
Yes, and I only want to use side images. Is that what's causing the problem?PyTom wrote:Offhand - side is special to Ren'Py. It's used for side image handling.

Lint "Could not find image" error [SOLVED]
So when I check my script with Lint, I get this error: "game/scriptch1.rpy:30 Could not find image (image_filename.png imagename) corresponding to attributes on say statement." This goes on for hundreds and hundreds of lines, random ones, out of every chapter. My game works perfectly fine,...

Re: Conditional statement not working right
While what you have does work, why are you using the strings "True"/"False" rather than the boolean values True/False? D'oh. That's just me spacing out. The reason your loop doesn't work is that you wrote $ things_remaining =- 1 (wrong) instead of $ things_remaining -= 1 (right)...

Re: Default text speed problem with my game tester
Oh, I used the launcher to delete persistent files on my end. Then I built her a windows distribution and sent that to her-- probably should have mentioned that, oops! She doesn't have Ren'py, just my game, so there's no launcher for her to use. She's on Windows 8 and has a Ren'py folder in AppData ...

Default text speed problem with my game tester
So, I changed the default text speed for my game from 0 to 35. It works fine for me when I test it. My friend, who had already tested some previous versions of the game for me, started up the new version I sent her and found that the game still ran as if the text speed were set to 0 (instant). On th...

Re: How do you guys make good/interesting characters?
I have a lot of people tell me (and I read a lot of places that say this, too) to think of your characters as tools for your plot. To not get emotionally involved in them because the point of the story is to essentially torture them with conflict. I hate this. I get that it works for some people--a...
