Re: Recommend some K & J drama
But I finished Surplus Princess (aka the mermaid) 10 eps: Though it took 2 episodes to start on the real plot, I laughed hard all along and I'm sad it was this short... (The actors were so... I never had such a hard time deciding who to root for) Surplus Princess and the whole apple butt thing... I...

Re: Harvest Moon Games
Tale of Two Towns was the first one I ever played, and to be honest... okay, so it wasn't as great as any of the other games, but I still rather enjoyed it. Except that I never got beyond a single cow, and running over that insane hill was just... too much. Just... no. So that was interesting. Maybe...

Re: First time watching Madoka
I loved the original series. I was bawling by episode 3, mostly because

Re: Do you play as same or opposite gender?
It really depends. I like to play as my own gender, but in plenty of games there just isn't an option to play as a girl, y'know? So I'll play as a guy if I have to, but in general I'd much rather play as a girl. Easier to identify with, I guess... and honestly, I like cute things, so aesthetically t...

Re: Nintendo 3DS
If it's JRPGs and games with anime-style art that you're looking for, Fire Emblem Awakening is a great choice! Slightly more niche but still amazing is the Shin Megami Tensei franchise, which includes Shin Megami Tensei IV, Devil Survivor: Overclocked, and Devil Survivor 2: Recordbreaker. I tend to ...

Strange button woes-- using [ and ] in dialogue? [SOLVED]
This is probably an incredibly stupid question, so I'm really sorry! But... how exactly does one go about convincing ren'py to read square brackets as dialogue? For example, the piece of code below would create an error: m "Hello!" m "These are [SQUARE BRACKETS] that I don't know how ...

Re: Your Favourite Twist in a Story?
Puella Magi Madoka Magica It started off as a cute little anime, possibly aimed at seven-year-olds, with cakes and moe girls and school uniforms and all that. And then a fifteen-year-old girl loses her head. Literally. And it turns out that the whole anime revolved around selling your soul to alien...

Re: Is music important in a game?
Music's an important part of setting the scene-- it can really help with the emotional impact of a scene. While you're in no way OBLIGED to provide music, it would probably improve the overall quality of the game.

Wow, I'm absolutely thrilled!! I loved Sacred Sand when I first played it (although it was a long time ago!), and I'm overjoyed to see a remake! Your art has definitely gotten much cleaner... I'm incredibly excited to see what you'll do with your remake! I'm also excited to learn more about your new...

I just. I mean. It's like everything bad that Pokemon's ever done wrong, without the nostalgia bonus to cushion it a little. The characters all look bizarrely like characters from other, popular things, the plot is contrived and drawn-out, and it's just... ugh.

Re: Guilty Pleasure Anime
Shugo Chara. A magical girl anime. Damn I hated this kind of anime when I was a child because of the characters and now i feel so guilty to enjoy it... I mean it's so repetitive and poorly done... My mind regress or what?! *HEART UNLOCK!* Did someone say Shugo Chara because-- Shugo Chara. Ah. The f...

If, despite all the hype, you haven't played Undertale yet, do it. Do it right now. It's every bit as good as people make it, and there's a ton about storytelling and replayability to learn for us makers of story-heavy games. YES. Just... YES. Undertale is a wonderful game in which your choices gen...

Re: True endings and their influence on narrative
I honestly think it depends on the execution. For example, a true ending is often necessary if you want to write a sequel that's not incredibly vague about the events of the previous game. In this game, the true ending is the most canonical outcome, and probably the most neutral. That doesn't necess...
