Re: Looking for the right character artist for +18 mini visual novel.

Hi there,
Can you expand a bit more on your project? I'd like to know a little bit of the story/theme as well as the art style you're looking for.

Re: Spicing up limited animation on character sprites

I personally think little animations like the ones you mentioned can really make your game a lot more lively. I know that in some mobile card games, the sprite barely changes at all, but small bounce/shake/whatnot can still capture some feeling to it. As a visual learner I always think little animat...

Re: Bust/side image throughout..yay or nay?

Personally, I find it a little helpful (as I am a heavily visual-based learner ^^;)

However, it can look a little excessive when the side images are somewhat... 'overflowing' into the textbox. (Fortune Arterial, Sen no Hatou)
As long as it isn't too close to the text I don't think it's distracting.

Re: Last game you played?

I play two im@s mobage: Million Live and SideM. I like how it doesn't require much and can be easily done during commute (if you have data). I play really casually unless the event cards are of my favourite characters. I was never a gamer, even when I was little. But I'm a huge sucker for story/text...

Re: What music to listen to while drawing?

I'm quite surprised at the amount of people who doesn't listen to music while working. I get a lot of surprised looks when I say I don't listen to music. (I just say that so I don't have to tell them what I actually listen to) I used to be able to watch videos while drawing, but now I listen to idol...

Re: Hug me I'm cold [Short][Romance][Weird]

Wow, the awkwardness is real. But so was the sweetness~ Anyway, it was such a comfortable game to end the year with! Cute graphics, and the message of the story seems to present itself very well! It's quite a realistic depiction of how natural conversations work: the tension. And nice touch on makin...

Re: Romance in a non-romance driven game?

Hmm, I personally think it would be quite out of place if there's more than one approachable character. If romantic relationship with that certain character is important to the plot, I would say you could make that one couple canon in all routes, just not the main focus. If romance is just a 'bonus'...

Re: Anyone else revamping their projects for 6.99.11?

Note that all old GUI Stuff still works in 6.99.11. The new GUI is more for people in the middle - who want to customize, but don't want to learn screens and styles. The one interesting thing might be calling gui.init, as that performs a style reset - which means you no longer have to fight against...

Re: Anyone else revamping their projects for 6.99.11?

As for the resolution, I used to always make my game in 720p but my assets were always larger than that. The problem lied with the coding. And as you all mentioned, the total revamp of the GUI coding system for 6.99.11 really mixed things up. It was mentioned as an easier way to customize GUIs, but ...
