Re: "ACE Academy" on Steam now~! [BxG][Comedy][SciFi][Mecha]
@philip - Steam can have DRM on it, but that's up to the individual games - if a game doesn't use Steam's DRM, then Steam is just a 'download manager' - you can always navigate to the folder it downloaded to (usually something like C:/Program Files/Steam or so) and move the files somewhere else/run ...

Re: Writing a Branching Plot - How to approach?
This thread was useful, but in the process of writing my story I realized that it's probably better served as sequential stories - think something like Fate/Stay Night, where playing through it once 'unlocks' the next route, with other routes potentially following. Writing some of the routes' plots ...

Re: Writing a Branching Plot - How to approach?
I disagree with Ozitiho, I think it's good to plan out all your routes before starting to write any of them. Planning before writing any of the branches lets you sneak in different details in each branch that add up to give a full picture. Then, it also solves your character problem; you see what s...

Re: Writing a Branching Plot - How to approach?
@Ozitiho - yeah... I suppose I just need to stop thinking of all my routes as "many sides of the same story" and instead choose one to be a 'main route,' at least for now (as I write it). I guess I'm just overly afraid of throwing stuff out during revisions (as far as characterizing charac...

Writing a Branching Plot - How to approach?
I'm in the beginning process of writing my (first) visual novel, and the way the story's leaning, it's going to be one with a branching plot. Having never written for this medium before, I wanted to ask - how do you approach plotting/writing this? I was coming at it by trying to think of all possibl...

Re: True endings and their influence on narrative
Whenever I play a game with an established "True Ending," I tend to treat the other endings not as their own full-fledged routes, but instead as 'context' for the true ending's story. I'm going to use Hatoful Boyfriend as my example, since that's the 'true ending' game I've most recently p...
Re: Guestbook
Hi! I'm a guy from Texas, in the process of starting to write a Visual Novel mainly out of curiosity. I don't have a writing (or really creative) background, so it may be hard (and will almost certainly suck). I came across Lemmasoft forums looking for resources to help me out - when I get further a...
