The module you linked to appears to require python 3.4 or later.
Oh, right. Renpy uses python 2.7 while the latest update of more-itertools no longer supports python 2.7. Thanks and I'll try to see if using a prior version would work.

You can define you hair, clothes, .etc variables as persistent variables instead. That way even if the game is restarted you should have the same thing.

Actually, as long as it is within a string then there should be no problem. I think the problem lies with the first part, image Hajime(100), since the way python sees parenthesis is that they either group expressions or are indicative of arguments.

Hmm did you create an object for your class Battle then call said function from referenced object?

It might also be a problem with how renpy deals with function calls. Try declaring your variable x outside your function and referencing it in your function as global .

Is it just one project or all the projects in your launcher? Try deleting persistent data of your project. Click the Delete Persistent button from renpy launcher and see if that fixes it.
