I started making a game for Yuri Jam. Could I still enter this in Ren'Py Jam even though I started working on it early?
Answer! Absolutely you can. There are no restrictions on when you can start or what other jams you can submit your game to.

Re: Looking for Artist(s) For Project and Potential Partnership

Hey there everyone, we've settled on a choice. I'll be going back through notifying all the talented people that we couldn't afford to hire in addition while cringing internally, but just in case I miss anyone I thought I'd announce it here too.

Astrum Dare [SciFi][Ludum Dare][Puzzle][Free]

https://astralore.itch.io/astrum-dare Today should have been just another typical day onboard the newly-built Space Station Zentri. Unfortunately, due to a long string of costly mistakes, the station finds itself in a crisis. An asteroid storm is closing in... and everyone is still on board. Luckily...

Re: Looking for Artist(s) For Project and Potential Partnership

Thanks to both of you for applying! We just got a boat load of applications today, so Chris and I may be a little slow wading through all of them, but rest assured that we'll keep at it and give everyone consideration.

[Closed] Looking for Artist(s) For Project and Potential Partnership

So Chris and I have finally decided to move forward with making a studio. The problem is, we have a dire lack of art skills between us. This is where you could come in! We have conceptualized a small project to use as a trial basis for the artist(s) we select. If we decide we like working together w...

Hey Philip, did you make sure you entered both a first and a last name? The confirm button to move on won't be enabled until you do that.

Ren'Py Jam

Featuring Eileen in PyJamas, Ren'Py Jam is a new jam I'm going to be hosting in late September. https://itch.io/jam/renpy-jam The main restriction is, of course, that you have to use Ren'Py to make your game. You also can't submit something you've already released (though you can borrow code from so...

Re: Public Relations & Marketing

Barzini has been incredibly patient and helpful to someone like me who started out with no clue of what to do, marketing-wise. He adapted to my changing situation to ensure I get the best value for my money and has given me great advice too. I look forward to continuing to work with him in the future.

Re: Phantom of the Blooming Rose [GxB] [Mystery/Romance/Royalty] [Kinetic]

Ooooh, so excited to see this thread. Lez told me about this project a while ago. 1. The storyline sounds interesting, because I love a good mystery. x3 There's something about a gentleman thief that's so alluring, I guess. 2. Rose appeals to me most, I like her attitude and her desire to prove hers...

Re: It Ends With Graduation [BxG] [RenPy Tribute VN] [Free]

Hey Hyesun, I'm glad you're interested in this! We'll be getting the demo out to you as soon as we can! Haha, everything Ren'Py can do? Guess I better plan on making some minigames. xD But yes, I definitely want to give some visibility to Native American culture, and we've already done quite a bit o...

Re: Screen Cleanup During Animation

I'd say try combining the movie and ATL together?

Code: Select all

image bus_movie:
    "bus_still"
    0.1
"bus_movie_raw" #this is your movie sprite
Or maybe combine the still bus image with the background and then after a split second have it switch to the without bg?

Re: Book on Ren'Py/Python

Super glad to be helpful. I would never disparage the RenPy docs because they are of so much help to me.... but I recognize that I'm not the average user and that what works for me as someone with experience both in coding and making sense of documentation that is far worse, is not going to cut it f...

Re: Book on Ren'Py/Python

If you were going to do a book, I'd much rather have an example-heavy cookbook of Renpy recipes that could be flipped to and referenced as needed. Just FYI I've begun work to create a patrons-only cookbook that will eventually be adapted into a Ren'Py game in the style of the tutorial you can purch...

Re: A bunch of visual novels with mature content on Steam are getting pulled/threatened with removal

I would probably agree with you except for one thing: (At least) Two of the games in question had people deliberately meet with Valve representatives to check that the content was acceptable. They were told that they were approved and in the clear, only to have Steam flip on them later. That indicat...
