Re: Selecting Imagebuttons and other problems

Thanks for the response, Namastaii! Of course I'm not actually doing a pizza thing, but it works similarly to the real topic. And the pizza size part is very relevant, since the first choice the player will make is of the "pick exactly one of these four" variety. It gets a bit trickier wit...

Re: Selecting Imagebuttons and other problems

This sounds like what I'm trying to solve in my current project, so I'm very interested in any further discussion or suggestions on this. What I'm trying to do is present the player with a set of imagebuttons that toggle between selected and unselected, where the player may select none, some or all ...

To address the original question, I personally used: $ name = renpy.input("Your name is...","Alex",length=12) This puts Alex in as the default name, but the player can choose to backspace over it and use their own. Thanks for the name.strip info, PyTom! I know that when I had my ...

I'm curious whether the latest evaluation version of Goldwave does or doesn't expire after X days. If it doesn't, I'd recommend it to anyone who needs a program to work with audio. (I imagine it's still limited to 150 commands a session, but that's more than enough for most people's purposes when wo...

Neat! The video looks cool (although I find the voiceover a bit jarring... I think I'm happier sticking with no english voice acting myself.) I'll second that comment. It didn't bother me that there was a voice in the video, but it really jarred me (that's the exact word, papillon!) when I realized...

Another option: If you have Goldwave , it opens the audio portion of .AVI files, and you can then save them in whatever regular audio file type you prefer. I'm not sure if they still offer a minimally crippled evaluation version or not -- back when I downloaded it years ago, it allowed you to do 150...

It is now... but it probably wouldn't have been (at least not recently), without this PSA*. Thanks, PyTom!

Ogg. Definitely Ogg... unless you are (or can recruit) a person who is exceptionally skilled at composing their own original works in MIDI. If the original work is in MIDI format, there's no reason to convert it to Ogg (unless there's some technical issue with MIDI in Ren'Py that I'm not aware of --...

I'll refrain from commenting on this now, other than to say that the most recent turn in the conversation reminds me very much of mikey's excellent article, Game Recognition Handbook . While the article avoids making judgments on the value of various categories of games (which I'm sure was a conscio...

I'm usually pretty dreadful at reading highly stylized kanji, but I'm 95% confident I've found this one. In Japanese, it's a common kanji which is read as GI (that's a hard G like in "get", and the I is pronounced "ee"), and which means "justice, righteousness, morality, hon...

Well, it's not a problem for me personally. If I want a screenshot for my own purposes, I can do the PrintScreen-and-crop method. But I was going to mention the screenshot option in my docs. I suppose I could simply avoid mentioning it. ^_^ (Although, if you happen to release yet another version bef...

I tried using the built-in screenshot taker in 5.5.0, and the resulting .png file wouldn't open. I tried it again in the same spot, in case it was a fluke, and the error was reproducible. I also get the error trying to take screenshots in different parts of my game. In IrfanView, I get the error &qu...

Brooktown High: Senior Year

I happened to notice a blurb about a game called Brooktown High: Senior Year, an upcoming English-language dating sim to be released by Konami (creators of the famed Tokimeki Memorial series, although this series is being developed by some company called Backbone Entertainment) next spring for the P...
