Re: GENBA no Kizuna [Murder Mystery] - New Demo Available (Aug 26, 2019)
Also, could you please give examples of the poses that struck you as slightly awkward? I'd naturally like to try and fix that! I'm glad I could help :) There were two poses that stood out to me as being a bit awkward. The first being Genba's forward facing pose with arms to the side. I found it a b...

Re: How many in-game days should it take for characters to fall in love?
I just want to start this off by saying I'm biased because I hate insta-romances. If you still want my opinion here it is. Obviously, it's up to you. It's your story and you can do whatever you want, but if you want the romance to feel realistic, 2 days or a week is far from enough time to build up ...

Re: What do you like in a VN protagonist?
If there's anything I hate about a protagonist it's when they're passive (the story happens to them instead of they actively advancing the story through their actions). I also don't like dumb, airhead protagonists (or characters in general) since their actions rarely make sense or feel realistic. An...

Re: Sprites - art vs narrative description inconsistencies
I don't mind it at all, but if the character does that specific pose a lot it might be worth making a sprite out of it just to show their personality. The only time I feel bothered by inconsistencies in the sprite and narration is when it comes to more drastic changes like fighting stances or clothi...

Re: A controversial question (love interest that look 15 when they're 22)
Thank you for your insight SinaAzad. I think you have a valid point and I do agree with you to some extent. Being too strict can be limiting and might negatively affect creativity. I'm still sticking by my choice though, since I don't think it will majorly affect the story and might make people more...

Re: Good story but decent art
Mostly agree with this, but with a caveat. I think you can actually judge a fair bit about the writing in a game from just a handful of well-picked lines. Not all lines are very useful for gauging the overall writing quality in a work, but the developer has leeway about what screnshots, gameplay se...

Re: Good story but decent art
And if the art is not good enough, I will think "Oh, they probably didn't have a lot of budget for art, so they probably won't have a lot to create a really good story or really interesting mechanics. If they didn't invest enough in their own project, that means it must not be the visual novel...

Re: GENBA no Kizuna [Murder Mystery] - New Demo Available (Aug 26, 2019)
Hello. I just wanted to say that I played the demo and overall really liked it. The story is interesting so far and I'm really looking forward to seeing how you handle multiple protagonists, especially since you seem to keep track on whether a character is alive or not. I'm super curious if the char...

Re: Sympathizing with a 'Bad' character
I think the most important thing you need if you want your antagonist to be likeable is to make them understandable and relateable. An antagonist that is evil just for the sake of being evil is really hard to relate to and so they become boring and unlikeable. Instead, you need to develop your antag...

Re: Opacity of main textbox
I don't know if there's a code for it, but you can always make the textbox transparent in your art program, save it as a PNG file and use that for the image.

This looks really promising and good. I'm a big fan of the art style and GUI. I'll let you know what I think once I've played the demo Are you looking for any specific feedback?

Re: A very long common route and late character introductions?
I don't have any problems with a long common route (although I'll admit that it makes me MUCH less likely to want to replay the story since I'll be seeing 90% of the content again. So this is something to consider!) With that said, you mentioned something about how you're worried about the player g...

Re: A very long common route and late character introductions?
@Zelan I haven't heard of that VN before but I'll look into it more to see how they did it. It sounds like they don't have a lot of branching, while I want to branch of quite a bit around the middle part, but I can still take inspiration from their approach. And you're right, the most important part...
