Re: Worldbuilding
The trick, I think, isn't to not build a complicated world. The trick is to only show as much of it to your readers/players as they need to know. Walls of text explaining the monetary system of such-and-such province aren't interesting to the reader. What IS interesting, however, is when the readers...

Re: Connection Pools [Sci-Fi / Fantasy][NaNo16]
This is a fun one. I like your approach to interactivity. The length was good, and I'm glad you didn't feel the need to explain every little thing. It leaves things open to "fridge logic" and keeps the player focused on the situation at hand. This feels fairly polished for a 5 week game. I...

Re: Segmentation_Fault[NaNo2016][Cyberpunk?]
I've uploaded a new build with a number of bug fixes, including a fix for the preferences screen issue (thanks paradigmshifty). Please PM with anything else.

Re: Segmentation_Fault[NaNo2016][Cyberpunk?]
Hey, thanks for the feedback (and PM)! Glad you liked it. :) I wanted to try a little more interactivity - to help immerse the player a bit more. The protagonist is stepping away from reality into a fantasy world, and so is the player by playing the game, but that doesn't mean there aren't very tang...

Grave of the Fireflies.
There's not much I can say about it that hasn't already been said. Highly recommended, but in a Schindler's List or Life is Beautiful sort of way.

Re: Writer needed for cyberpunk VN(reopened)
It would be good to show an idea of the timeline you are aiming for with the manuscript. It's hard to get a feel for what "ample free time" means in terms of real hours from your post.
I like your premise, though.

Re: Segmentation_Fault[NaNo2016][Cyberpunk?]
Thanks for the thoughtful response and the encouragement. I can definitely see what you mean about the world building and character development needing some more love (it's the stereotypical over-ambitious first project!). Perhaps after another few games of experience under my belt, I'll return and ...

Re: Questions regarding Coding
(If you don't care about random number generation, skip to the end) So I looked it up, and Python uses a variant of the Mersenne Twister using hardware drivers , so my guess was correct. Random takes quite a bit more effort than x=1. Eiliya , did we provide a good enough answer for you? The code is ...

Re: Questions regarding Coding
Yeah, I mean all the above work. The reason you would use one over the other is if you want more things to happen. Since you want only those things to happen, the simplest approach is the best, but if you wanted, say, something else entirely to happen when you originally have "pass" in th...

If there is Brood War, I'm interested.
If it alludes to Brood War pros and competition history, I'm sold.

Re: NanoReno 2016
Well, my first game (Segmentation_Fault) got a really bad review. I wouldn't mind a second opinion, so I can either feel better or learn where it all went wrong for next time.
Sometimes it is hard to get a feel for how well you communicated the themes, I think.

Re: Questions regarding Coding
It's better form to use elif and else: if result > 40 and super < 2: $ result = 40 elif result > 32 and super < 1: $ result = 32 else: but I won't supply an "else" clause for you. If I were coding it, I would do it like so: label calculation: if super < 1: $ result = renpy.random.randint(1...
