Re: Fare Thee Well [Kinetic] [Drama, Historical] [NaNoRenO 2
I totally love the plot and those characters, also interesting choice for the time setting (1967? I bet it'll have a nice atmosphere) Also the arts are really great, looking forward to see the finished sprites <3 Even there's only limited time to work on the VN, I believe you guys can do it! or if ...

Re: Why Yuri games are so unpopular?
So I was talking with Whimsical Conductor whose helping me with Chocolate Kiss and we suddenly got into the discussion on why Yuri games aren't that popular. Yaoi games seem to be rising a bit, and we all know that otome games are as well because they're super fun. But so are GXG games. Recently, I...

Re: Present Tense or Past Tense?
I have the strong tendency to write in the past tense, but I've been told that this lends a passive voice to my story. In some cases it's true, but in some cases, a more distant and reflective voice is best - especially in slice-of-life VNs. I'd say writing in the present tense is vastly more common...

Re: Fanservice: To be or not to be?
If your advertising includes scantily clad sprites (Or shirtless males posing, that could happen as well) then you've effectively shaped the expectations toward your game. Consistency is really the key here.

Re: Visual Novels on Steam, recommendations?
As far as slice-of-life college dating-sim-esque VNs go, this one is pretty solid. I enjoyed everything about it. The stat system and schedule add another aspect to the story besides the dialogue choices.YonYonYon wrote:

Re: Your opinion about stats in dating sims
Last time, I've asked about the kind of CGs you'd like to see in a romantic VN . In other games that incorporates RPG elements, like Rune Factory or Fire Emblem, your stats aren't related to your love interest. It only affects your own growth and abilities in the "Battlefield", meanwhile ...

Re: Is music important in a game?
I think that music is occasionally overdone in VNs. It's crucial that music exists, but I think that it should tend more to the ambient side of things unless your scene involves a lot of action or intense emotions. If you're playing through a relatively calm scene (IE, most of a slice of life VN), t...

Re: The last book you read or what are you reading right now
I've long been a fan of the classic fantasy novels (R.A. Salvatore and his sorcerous ilk). As of late, though, I'm reading H.P Lovecraft's Complete works, which is an exhaustive, dark, grueling, and fantastic read. The last one that I finished was Night by Elie Wiesel, for English class. I've also j...

Re: Do you write a VN like a novel or a screenplay?
As I'm used to writing short stories and novels, I usually write the first draft in novel-esque format and then convert it to ren'py script in subsequent drafts.

Re: How much should I charge?
This is entirely dependent on what kind of demand you expect or can demonstrate. From a economic purist' perspective, you'd want to charge more if you already have some demand. Does your work have a following? How much of a following do you have personally? How much demand or visibility can you gene...
