Re: Visual Novel Ideas looking for feedback
Reading this threat again have me embarrassed, I could've have use more specific question such as "If protagonist is trapped in the other world, what kind of explanation do you want? brief monologue or full story of 'the first day'?" , Will you hate it if in the end, there's no love involv...

Re: Visual Novel Ideas looking for feedback
English is a problem, yeah, I know it since I am not a native speaker. I suggest you to polish your work a bit and then show it in some writings-oriented communities 'whazzup I am X I'm creating a game right now, if you want to patricipate - find me on Y, you help me polish my text, I put you in th...

Re: Is my character art passable?
About art, I'd be echoing SundownKid by saying you've got a good proportion. What I can't tell from small picture is whatever will it look good on VN screen... to be specifics, when it scaled up. Flash's hard line often come off as unnatural and tend to make everything looks cheap, no matter how goo...

Visual Novel Ideas looking for feedback
After lurking around this site and interacting with creative person for awhile (still 3 times more than I did in my whole life). I'm starting to feel that getting so much help without putting any idea out there is a bit...selfish. So, I will put it here! (<- awkward resolve) Edited : spot a lot of m...

Re: Diverse Character Dilemma
I born and live in an Asian country, what I can say in my honest opinion is yes, 'only one black' tend to stand out and I often ended up looking at them more than other 'same color' character. Getting looked more could do both good and bad, good = they got recognized, bad= if there's something wrong...

Re: Character with ambiguous gender or outright deceptive
Thank you guys for all comment! Originally, I was going to write a lot in respond but that's better suited for Idea threat or WIP. So all I could say is I'm really glad to see you stand on the same ground (at least, closer) more than I though. (I have been worried that what I perceived as 'respect' ...

Character with ambiguous gender or outright deceptive
Firstly, this is the first time I start a topic on English community. I'm normally sheltered so this is quite and achievement...well, I'll celebrate it alone. Also, as you may guess from my sentence, I'm not a native speaker. (I'll keep telling this until someone says "Enough! I remember your a...

Re: A Shadow's Reflection [DEMO]
Sorry for being years late. Finished this a moment ago. Good job! I couldn't comment much on the writing since my English is...less than average. But overall it's very easy to read. ^^' The mystery itself is interesting. I love how each scene conveyed protagonist's uneasiness. (Not having too much f...

Re: To info dump or not?
Have you considered putting it somewhere separate from the main story? Such as the codex, tips, or glossary where the player can access via a menu. Some reader may want to ignore the rule and go along with the flow (+some small hint on the way instead of full-fledged infodump) but will read it when ...

Re: Tower Trap [BL, Fantasy, Comedy][YaoiJam]
Having no experiences with Yaoi game aside from first 20 minutes of Togainu no chi, still interested. I'm easy ^^' 1. Does the premise seem interesting? - As someone with an unhealthy obsession in the dungeon (but sucks at d&d), seeing 'trap' and 'tower' in the title is enough for me to get inte...

Re: Do you doubt your writing?
Being far from a professional writer, I may sound a bit naive here but..having someone to looks at your draft should solve most problems. A Nice friend is good for your self-esteem. If you're lucky he'll pointed out where the problem is. Recently, I've drawn my draft (yes, I can't write anything dec...

Re: Shadow City [Magical Girl][Noir]
This post sleeps in my draft box for a while now. Anyway, after being encouraged(?). I finally have enough guts to post this. Personally, I'll look forward to anything with "The town with the dark secret" tropes...when they're in a format that are easier to read. So, this interests me imme...

Re: Interestingly structured VNs
I'm a little more confused as to how the middle one works, though it reminds me a bit of the Mercy Option in Undertale, especially for bosses. (wherein you are mostly just surviving until they've said their piece) Sorry, my vocabularies are limited here. (still working on that, or my project won't ...

Re: Interestingly structured VNs
After spends good 10 minutes drawing the scene you describe in the paper to make sense out of it. (Yes, planning that must be fun.) I feel obligated to reply despite my reply have nothing to do with your story...forgive me ^^' Also, English isn't my native language and I didn't post much..okay, on t...

Re: The VN or The KN?
I prefer KN. It's easier to pickup for some nice read. (It's definitely different from a book. Unless you ended up making a wall of text on an image background with some music to accompany a reader. hint: sound/visual effects do helps.) VN demands more... mental, prepare to deal with game mechanism,...
