Re: [Kickstarter live!] Winter's Symphonies [Drama/Psychological/Suspense/Atmospheric] - Demo available!
Damn, the art and the UI look great. Next to which, I do have a liking for stories about looking back into the past/going back to a hometown filled with memories. Nostalgia is always a good flavor to add to a story that I find makes for a more wholesome tale. I really do hope the soundtrack and writ...

Re: What was the first visual novel you played?
I'd say Phoenix Wright was probably my first, although I didn't know it was considered a visual novel back then. If you're talking about purely traditional VNs with no gameplay whatsoever however, that would be Phenomeno, was pretty scary from what I recall. X(

Re: How much time daily do you spend on your VN?
I think I spend about an hour minimum to three hours maximum on a weekday (Since work keeps me busy) and about 6 hours maximum on a weekend. I'd say for me, it's pretty important that I keep to a schedule otherwise I'd lose momentum with my writing (Which has happened before and therefore I'm trying...

Re: The longest you've spent on a single scene
Hmmmm... I've actually done that before in my earlier drafts but by this draft I'm actually looking to polish it up to the point where it can stand as an average script so that's why I've been spending an unusually long time on each scene as compared to moving from one scene to another. That said, a...

The longest you've spent on a single scene
Just wondering, but what is the longest time you authors have spent on a single scene. I'm just interested to know exactly how long of a 'block' have you guys ever faced before. For me, I'm currently fighting my longest block thus far. (Which is what made me write this in the first place) I've been ...

Re: How Important Is Movement/Action During Dialogue
I see. I think everybody's made a pretty solid point about how narration should be in the script but it shouldn't overshadow the art assets that are already there. But if that's the case, would you prefer 3rd person narration or 1st person narration. It's a bit of an odd limbo right now where I'm re...

How Important Is Movement/Action During Dialogue
Hey everyone! Just would like to gain the community's opinion on this particular subject matter of visual novel writing. At this current point in time with my script, I've noticed that I use a whole ton of actions/movements when writing a dialogue scene, and it's something which I'm thinking of stam...

Re: Any ideas to incentivize a protagonist to play RSP?
I really like how Kakegurui (The gambling manga thinger ber jig) does it by incorporating a culture of gambling in the school as a premise of why they gamble in the first place. Taking that concept and extrapolating it with RPS is a way I see how it can probably be done with little issue. But in thi...

Re: What do you do when it just. doesn't. work?
I think it would be good if you just wrote the scene first, no matter what issues you are facing right now. Get the scene down first, no matter how boring or uninteresting it may seem to you and move on to completing the first draft. The first draft will always be filled with mistakes and errors. On...

Re: Switching POV for one scene?
I think it's totally fine to switch POV given that it translates to a more understandable script. There are many ways to present information to the reader, and every option should be at your disposal even if you're writing fiction. (That includes letter and report writing) You shouldn't use only one...

Re: PRologue [Mystery] [Psychological] [Drama]
Does the story sounds interesting to you? I've always been a fan of mystery/crime VNs, and reading through the plot of it, it feels like you're going for that clean modern day crime thriller feel. So far, it looks to be promising, I dig that kinda vibe. Do you like the art style? The art looks real...

Re: Love interest doing something gamer DON't LIKE.
Personally, I think it is fine if the love interest does something the gamer doesn't like. It can be made into a plot point even whereby the MC tries his/her best to 'fix' or 'mitigate' this problem through the story. Depending on how you write it out and use this 'something that the gamer wouldn't ...
