Re: Animation with dots, lines, bezier curves

names44 , Thanks for the link! But, maybe there exists more suitable examples? About lines, and how to change lines coordinates and animate them? It’s kind of hard to do “generic” examples with CDD’s, since most uses of them are highly specific to what you’re trying to do. Part of the power of them...

Re: Animation with dots, lines, bezier curves

It’s possible that the best approach might be a “Creator Defined Displayable”. https://www.renpy.org/doc/html/udd.html

This requires some Python knowledge, but is the most powerful of the Displayable options.

Re: I don't understand this error

When asking for the code before and after, it was not meant from the error screen, it was meant from your script. Sometimes the line number reported as causing the error isn’t really the line that caused the error - it could be something just before or after. So, if you can give us a bit more of you...

Re: Android build, not detected JDK

Your question isn’t even 2 hours old and you’re bumping it? Etiquette, please. Why don’t you start with a detailed list of the steps you performed. What version of the JDK did you install? What did you do to test that it’s installed correctly and is working? What did you do next after installing the...

Re: Displaying ingame variables in the save/load screen

It is theoretically possible to do this, but would involve some Python coding. Essentially, what you’re asking for is to “peek inside” the save file. As I recall, Ren’py saves the game state using the Python “pickle” capability, so what you’d have to do is manually “unpickle” it and look at the valu...

Re: Menu/Choice bug

You are displaying the screen with “show” and it’s not modal, so execution is going to proceed to the next statement. When you get to the menu, it is only then that the game is waiting for an interaction. But when you execute the “call” from the shown screen, if you read the docs, it says it “ends t...

Re: Choice GUI is not showing up properly in Android

If it’s a bug, has someone created an issue on GitHub so that PyTom knows to look at this? No, I've never created an issue on github (don't know how), but I have posted it on the forums several times. No worries - just understand that things mentioned here don’t always get noticed by PyTom, since h...

Re: How to make gender-specific dialogue translatable

One solution that occurs to me are custom text tags. Supposing that you created your translation string as “{male}Es-tu prêt{/male}{female}Es-tu prête{/female}” “It’s {male}his{/male}{female}her{/female} bag.” And then arranged your custom text tags “male” and “female” to respect your players gender...

Re: Android x64 release is problematic

Google publishes the distribution of Android versions at https://developer.android.com/about/dashboards This is based on stats of phones hitting Google Play. @Imperf3kt is correct - the percentage of phones below 4.4 totals only something like 3% of the base, and about 90% are at 5.0 or above. Note ...

Re: HELP:HIDE A MOVIE ON RENPY

Another thing to look at - you started the movie with "play", but then tried to hide it with "hide". "Play" and "hide" don't really go together as a pair. An alternate approach is to give a full definition of the movie "image" including the file name, at which point you can just "show" and "hide" th...

Re: Error that I just have no clue about.

This is just a guess, but have you changed versions of Ren'py since those saves were made? This has the look of a situation where an instance of a class was saved (Matrix2D in this case) and when it's restored, something is different about the way the class is implemented in the version of Ren'py th...

Re: Iterative updates and old save files

Thank you for the reply I feel relieved, it seems like the developers I saw just gave up easily, if I'm organized since the beginning it's ok then I have some questions though, what if you add a mini-game or a new variable on the new update that does NOT rely on the old save? is that save breaking ...
