Re: [Video] Atelier Apricot animations * Open!

I'd like to say, Rito is a great person to work with. Fast. Dedicated. Clever. I mean, just look at what she did with the Episicava trailer. I gave her a skeleton and she fashioned a super model onto it. Better commission her fast, my studio has plans of hiring her on a permanent position in the nex...

Re: Free Legal advice

I used a CC NC SA sprite in a demo of my future game but the future game will be sell with a price but without this sprite. Can I use it this sprite ? Yes, you can. CC NC SA is non-commercial, so you can't use the sprite in a product that is being sold, even as a PWYW. But if it's for a demo, it's ...

Re: Free Legal advice

Would I be allowed to use the character's appearance in a picture without censor bars over their face? I've noticed those are common in anime and such If you want to use another character legally, it's best to either use a similar design and play it as a parody or a satire. It's 100% safe. In any o...

Re: Episicava [BxG][Kickstarter and demo out!]

Hello Everyone, We are terribly sorry to bring you this bad news, but unfortunately we'll have to shut down Episicava's campaign due to internal issues with our art team that we feel would prevent us from completing the game by our original planned deadline. We feel that delivering to our backers is...

Re: Episicava [BxG][Kickstarter and demo out!]

Hello Everyone,

We are opening a poll to decide whether or not we should employ the use of backerkit to help gather more funds for Episicava to increase content. We'd like you to participate if you could. http://www.strawpoll.me/12683394

Re: !! Writers Needed for Voln, an XXX Fantasy RPG !!

Hello Morv. I saw this thread when i was looking through and felt the need to help you out. No, i don't mean help you out with your work. I mean help you out in finding what you need. If you're relying on this thread to find a professional partner, i'll be honest and say it probably won't work out. ...

Re: Free Legal advice

I always wondered about this, but if you want to release games on distribution channels, are individuals allowed to release games on there? Or does one have to be registered as a business? I always wondered because on some channels like PS store it's really official even with third party games avai...

Re: Free Legal advice

Generally, yes. Once you use their IP, be it a trademark logo like Zelda emblem or anything unique from their work, in the form of a parody, you {i}must{/} credit them by all means. A way around this is to use indirect referencing. Switch out letter in the names or only use descriptions. The descrip...

Re: Episicava [BxG][Kickstarter and demo soon!]

Unfortunately, Episicava was not fully funded on Kimochi. Therefore, I'm left wondering how development will proceed from here? A good question. We'll have a planned kickstarter for the remaining quarter of our budget. If we get funded there and get enough over to cover the budget, we're cool and E...

Re: rotoscoped compositions and copyright

From a legal perspective, and taking international copyright laws into account, what you're saying, like the previous comments pointed out, does not amount to fair use. No matter how obscure, you always need the original owners permission for most cases. Derivative works and adaptations are loosely...
