Re: What are legit pose references?

Uhmm... it's more complicated. I generally try to emulate some poses or expressions from MMD models videos. I'd like to use this methos for the CGs of a VN, but I don't know if I should copyright the artists of the videos or not. Or anyway ask if I can use some poses... it sounds quite odd to me ^^...

Re: What are legit pose references?

A lot of the stuff you mentioned isn't actually bad. Taking a pose from a drawing isn't bad, and neither is taking inspiration from another drawing. No one owns a pose. As long as you aren't tracing someone else's work, and maybe you mention the person you took inspiration from/used a pose from, you...

Re: misleading username [ critiques welcome! ]

Thank you so much for the markup and the gif you made!! It's very helpful!! It is actually on a hill, so how much does that change it from the markup you did? Should I make the horizon more curved to reflect this, too? Does the vanishing point always have to be in the very center? Also, I tried to f...

Re: bosinpai's art

I dig the "pose conveys character" concept, much potential for creativity. Yep! Poses are probably just as important (if not more important than) the way the character is styled. (Clothes, hair, ect.) People are quite young at that historical period, including the main noble characters, h...

Re: bosinpai's art

Hello! Got a critique for your latest drawing! ^^ Since you're going for a more western/realistic style, I think you should play up the captain's age a bit (more wrinkles), and make the nose more defined. The eyes should be smaller, too, if you're going for a style similar to that of a comic book. A...

I cannot offer much advice on the character art but I might have some thoughts for the images with a lot of background in if you're interested. Do you mind if I do a paint-over/mark-up?

Cheers

Ha, you're like me. Working on way too many different things at once. cx The contest prize looks awesome! I can't help but notice the lighting again, you paid great attention to those shadows. And you're right to be proud of the coloring, it's spot on. c: And that one of Simone in the swimsuit is l...

Re: Needing tips & feedback on how to improve this character

To help answer some of your questions, I made a quick sketch. Hopefully, this will make what I'm going to talk about a little clearer. But, before I start, I noticed there's a lot of negativity towards your own work in your post and I just want to quickly say that everyone starts somewhere. I don't ...

Re: 1st Degree [BxB] [Mystery/Suspense/Drama]

Is the plot intriguing to you? Yes! I already loved murder mysteries and dark romances, but knowing that you'll have to kill 3 or more of the characters makes it even more interesting. I think it adds a lot of weight to your actions as the player, makes you think a bit harder about the situation, r...

I really like Simone and Daedra! c: Is Daedra half-person, half-snake? Are they dating or just really close friends? I'm glad you like them!! ^^ Yep, Daedra's a naga (I think that's what they're called, at least lol) and they're dating! I'll definitely be making more drawings with them~ (...

'Sup! It's been a while, sorry! Last month was probably one of the worst months I've had in a long time lol, so I didn't get much done. Anyway, here's some things I've completed and am working on! (I'll probably be posting again soon-ish, since I've been really working hard on stuff this month.) In ...

Re: Young Artist Looking For Critique!

Would an art style similar to this image work well in a visual novel? I agree with gekiganwing on this one, I think any art style can work in a VN, as long as it's high quality. In fact, I think a unique art style can serve to make a VN more memorable. -- As for your style, I've got a few critiques...
