Re: What makes a visual novel?
I've to say it was quite an interesting read and certainly answered some of my questions, even though my russian isn't really all that well, so thanks for these links. Nevertheless, and it's pointed more towards all the people who'd visit this thread later, I'd like to hear more opinions on the topi...

Re: Voice acting. Full or partial
I've always preferred full voice acting [especially in japanese games but since I'm not english natice it's usually nice to hear how they pronounce all these weird words; also sometimes I'm laughing inside hearing non natives in games trying to say something in another language and it's so bad it's ...

What makes a visual novel?
So I want to experiment with the genre just for the sake of it and am wondering what exactly makes a game a visual novel because the definition isn't really all that clear. I mean, when you see a proper vn you can easily tell what it is but it's not the case when coming across a more hybrid-like gam...

'Mute' protagonist
Not mute sensu stricto but the player wouldn't know what they're saying. I found something like that executed in Alice Mare and I've been wondering if it's good to use in vn because honestly, it'll be hard. In RPGs MC doesn't really have to say anything to advance the story because of the mechanics ...

Re: interactive encyclopedia and not alienating player
It's not really what you're thinking about but Analogue: A Hate Story and Hate Plus are pretty good in this regard. You mostly read entries of diaries, letters and so on to unravel the mystery of what happend in the now-abandoned spaceship. The games are interesting and don't use a complicated syste...

Otome stereotypes
I'm currently trying to write a parody of an otoge [very bizarre, I hope] and I am kinda struggling with coming up with ideas. There are many cliches but which of them are the most overused, characteristical or just good to made fun of? It's better to focus on parodying story elements or character t...

Re: Nakakapagpabagabag [GxB/G][Otome, parody, bizarro?, psychological?]
Still no sprites cause my tablet hate me but they'll appear. Eventually. Just as NPCs and concept art and so on... I've given it some thought and came to think this whole idea sounds, like, insanely [or maybe laughably?] stupid but after a bit more thought realized it doesn't really matter. Why? Obv...

Re: Hermes & Gry: A Crooked Plan [Free] [Fantasy / Dark Humor / Adventure]
Still not so sure what to think 'bout it. I mean, yeah, the game itself [part before the endings] was fairly good, no doubt 'bout it. I enjoyed it, after all Gry's a great character and his cluelessness towards Hermes' gender [but maybe I'm wrong? Maybe the town folks were deceiving us the whole tim...

Re: Biting off more than I can chew?/Feedback
The idea itself sounds preety good but I'm not sure whether you can handle it whole yourself. It's pretty complicated after all, nevertheless if you're really up to do it, I wish you the best of luck. I've been wondering 'bout the system, though. It seems like typical stat-raising sim and with all t...

Re: Datematsu [GxB][Otome VN][Romance][Short]
Heroine sprite? Y/N? If yes, with changing facial features or without? It doesn't really matter. Well, maybe it's a bit irritating when we don't know how Heroine looks but only if there's no CGs. So it only depends on whether you add CGs or not. Voiced heroine? Y/N? Only if everything else'll be vo...

Nakakapagpabagabag [GxB/G][Otome, parody, bizarro?, psychological?]
At first I'd like to say I'm sorry for my english [until game release it'll be a way better anyway] and Nakakapagpabagabag won't be filipino [it's not that I don't even know tagalog or so~]. It's just unreasonable liking for strange words and this particular perfectly suits the game idea [means worr...

Re: [redacted] Life (Horror/Comedy) (NaNoRenO 2016)
1. First impressions in general? So, well, I started to play quite a long time after downloading and just forgot what all this is about. Thus I can say that my very first impression was 'this looks good' probably mostly because of music and somewhat spooky mood. And that was great, indeed. 2. Though...

Oh well, it seems good and all but since is in mandarinian [or whatever language it is] I simply can't play. Are you planning to translate this or just forgot to mention that it isn't in english?

Re: soundless - A MODERN SALEM IN REMOTE AREA - [Horror][Denpa][Kinetic][GxG][Free]
Well, adding more hints of course make some events clearer but isn't necessary. In fact that sounds a bit as a bad idea. At this moment I'm seriously curious about the mystery catastrophe and what caused it. Even if you explain other things [what you eventually can do in the remake] it's still bett...

Re: soundless - A MODERN SALEM IN REMOTE AREA - [Horror][Denpa][Kinetic][GxG][Free]
That was... interesting and all but I'm not really sure what was exactly going on. Especially when it comes to Auma. I mean - did she really ate Nyn or was that just MC seeing things? If she did then that means their nanobots affect each other and she receive some kind of double [full?] power but no...
