Re: Question on CG artists pay rates
Different artists charge differently, so if you're more able and comfortable to pay per cg, I say look for artists that are willing to be paid by that method. I think monthly salary is used more by a developed studio? and paying per cg is actually a more common practice around freelance artists (at ...

Re: (UPDATED) How much is my coloring style worth and which style would you prefer?
whoaa that's some good portrait you made there! Well done! My favorite is definitely the left image. The right image's color feels murky because you use greyish green for secondary shading color and I also found that the character's eyes are clearer on the left image. I'm guessing you used green bec...

Re: How much is my coloring style worth and which style would you prefer?
your work is good and certainly worth more than $3-$6. Portrait like that should be priced $20 at least, and even more if you put more time on cleaning the line art and rendering. Looking at the face structure, you already grasp the foundation. Keep drawing and you'll get used to facial anatomy very...

Hi! I saw that one of the topic that the artist must be skilled at is about sexy/erotic illustrations. Is that mean this project is NSFW?

Re: should I make my game an EA with no characters
Isn't there other way to test your story? Is the early access free or paid? Because if it's paid, for me personally, if I'm going to invest in your game, it should at least hook me up visually just like a book cover does. And in early access, I think people who play will expect some well-planned upd...

Re: Reference preferences
Having a dedicated pinterest board is a good start. In my case, if my client doesn't have a finished/fixed character reference, I asked them to look for reference for specific part of their character. So the end reference will be something like : hair from x character, outfit from y photograph, and ...

Re: How to decide your prices?
I think your works are beautiful! Even though the coloring style is simple, you rendered the clothes nice and clean and you also quite nailed it on anatomy. I can't really tell you how much you should charge for your work because it's very personal and depends on a lot of factors, like where you liv...

Re: How to draw items for visual novel?
Aren't those things depend on the game's needs? For picture size though, I suggest always start bigger than actual in-game size in case you need it later for promotional stuff or something else. For example, if the in-game size is 300 pixels, you might want to draw at 1000 pixels at least. Just make...

Your item (or should I say food?) drawing on your dA looks good already. What seem to be the problem?

Re: facial guidelines. Is this making him ugly or handsome?
Number 3 is fine. Head is a bit bigger for normal proportion but if it's your style and preference, then go for it. A suggestion based on Autumnotopia's comment, the jawline is not too visible because the color is very similar with the ear so I suggest you make the ear a bit darker.

Re: facial guidelines. Is this making him ugly or handsome?
proportionally, 1 is correct because his ears are in line with eyes and nose. Number 2 is like seeing the character from above because the ears position is higher than eyes. It all depends on your preference in the end, 2 looks cuter because his face is shorter while 1 looks more ikemen. If you pref...

Re: Just curious
Tbh, it depends on a lot of different factors. Some amateur artists I found here can charge as low as $10 per sprite, while those with more experience usually charge $80+ for a sprite. If you need extra like expressions or different pose and outfit, they also have their own price. As for background ...
