Re: Thoughts on death of Steam Greenlight?
Hi everyone, About 20 minutes after the news broke, I hopped onto my computer and straight away sent an email to Valve and we had a discussion on what was actually, a frank exchange on the industry's way of publishing games as a whole. In fact, they even asked me for detailed answers regarding what...

Re: Making Visual Novels (For People Who Hate Visual Novels)
Just agreeing again. While I'm a bit fatigued with high school stories in general, I would be interested high school stories set in places other than the US and Japan. I would be really interested in a VN set in a Brazilian High School. I'd be especially interested if it weren't a dating sim. Comin...

Re: Her Lullaby [Horror, Psychological, Mystery, Drama]
Warning to anyone about to play this: Do not wear headphones! Freaking static bang effects... I enjoyed this game. I liked the events of the game that were walking a silken thread between being too vague and being too obvious, and the very subtle hints and lore that wouldn't have worked if they wer...

Re: What if No One Plays It
Woof. Dumping yourself into a project, being incredibly excited for your launch, and getting total silence...worst feeling in the world. It's easy to over-invest yourself into a project that's very personal and meaningful to you and want to share this really cool thing you made. Then, days or weeks ...

Re: The new renai.us/games.renpy.org support thread.
Hello! I can't seem to actually finish an upload to my game listed here: http://games.renpy.org/game/her-lullaby The upload for the .zip begins, then keeps restarting at around 35-45%, then eventually throws the following error: "Error #-200: HTTP Error." I've checked my internet and my up...

Re: Editing/Removing "unsaved progress" prompt
You probably created the game long before current version. Right now you can go to Generate Translation menu in launcher and generate translation for language None. Afte that remove everything that is generated in tl/None folder, but *.rpym files Alrighty, I'll give that a look when I get home from...

Re: Editing/Removing "unsaved progress" prompt
To change prompt text, open "common.rpym" in "game/tl/None" with text editor. Find the following line and edit it: # 00gui.rpy:232 old "Are you sure you want to return to the main menu?\nThis will lose unsaved progress." new "Are you sure you want to return to the...

Editing/Removing "unsaved progress" prompt
Hello again! I was wondering if there is a way I can change the text string or remove the "unsaved progress will be lost" prompt shown in the attached picture. menu_remove.jpg This prompt is given when the reader chooses to return to the main menu/title screen. The game me and a friend are...

How To Make Main Menu Stuff Disappear While Loading/Prefs
I can admit I'm a full on noob when it comes to this kinda stuff, but I've been banging my head against this all day and can not figure it out. I have a custom title screen with imagebuttons for Start Game, Continue, Ending Gallery, Preferences, and Quit. The problem is, that ALL of these options st...
