This site explains the process of publishing your game on steam. It costs $100 USD and you'll need to fill out some tax paperwork, but it seems to be a pretty straightforward process, although I haven't tried it yet myself.

I don't think it's too uncommon for people to start dating pretty soon after meeting if they're really attracted to each other and one of them is confident enough to initiate things. It might be a little out of the ordinary for them to be saying they love each other that early in a relationship, but...

I'm not sure if this is the problem, but I wonder if it has something to do with how you've defined the images? I've always done it with the character name first and then the description of the expression second, like "show kc shock1" and "show kc smile1" or something. That's the way the tutorial do...

For the first question, what you want is a persistent variable . The game will store that data even when you quit or load a different save. This, absolutely. One thing that might help hold audience attention is sprinkling smaller choices that have either little or no overall impact; just letting the player engage in a decision that provides some sort of user input could break up the tedium of repeatedly clicking/tapping space. I don't think there's anything wrong with a long common route - especially since you've listed a lot of important events that are taking place during that time, which sound like they definitely justify the length. Just because a VN has a few different routes doesn't mean that when I start reading it...

If I understand your question correctly, I think you just need to make your hotspots jump to a label where you put the conversation, like this:

Code: Select all

hotspot (30, 295, 135, 106) clicked Jump("conversation")
Then put whatever you want at the "conversation" label.

Are you defining K_ESCAPE anywhere else? It sounds like maybe you are putting the escape back in thus overriding your screen? You might want to check your code. If you can't find anything, make a fresh project and and add the code back in piece by piece to see what might be breaking it. I used ctrl...
