Re: Recommended EVNs for those who've never read/played them before

I think Cinderella Phenomenon by Dicesuki would be a really good start for someone who's just getting into VNs. In general, it's good and it's free. It also has a little tutorial that kind of explains how things work, indicators after choices that show you which route you're headed towards, and gene...

Re: How do you schedule things out?

I find that it helps to set up a to-do list, and sort things on the list based on how important they are and how time-consuming they'll be. Something like programming a complicated gameplay segment would be at the top of my list, while smaller and lower priority things like finding that one extra so...

Re: A Summer with the Shiba Inu [Introspective][Mystery][Travel]

I'm glad to see an update on this! I'll probably be waiting for the full release before reading it, but I'm really curious to eventually find out what you mean by the game noticing how long you take to make a decision. :D

Re: The Light at the End of the Ocean [Friendship][Ontological Mystery][Point-and-Click][Commercial]

Happy New Year everyone! We've been hard at work on this project over the past little while, and I'm really excited to say that all the sprite art is done and we're starting on the CGs! I'm not sure how many of them I'll be able to reveal without spoiling things, but here's a preview of an early one...

[Closed]Background artist needed to complete a project that has some sketches and line art done already

This position has now been filled. Thanks to everyone who responded! Hi, I'm Jane Titor and I'm writing and programming a visual novel called The Light at the End of the Ocean. I have an in-progress thread for it here , and if you'd like to see some more examples of my work, you can take a look at ...

Re: Magical Diary: Wolf Hall [Sim/RPG] [BxG/B] [Commercial]

I'm also super hyped for this! Magical Diary was one of my first visual novels and it's still among my favourites. I especially liked the exam puzzles, so I'm excited to see that it looks like there will be more of those! I also love Barbara's character design.

Re: Can't remember name of VN

Could it have been Leviathan: The Last Day of the Decade? I only read part of it, but I remember an interesting art style and some kind of steampunk-type-tram-thing.

Re: Stylized Ancient Egyptian drawings instead of sophisticated CGs?

I think your mockups look really cool! If I just happened to come across screenshots like that, I would definitely be interested in playing something with such a unique style. But you would probably risk turning off some people who don't like it and are more interested in other art styles. Maybe you...

Re: Cannibal Lottery [Horror]

This sounds really interesting! I like the art style, and I enjoy things that mix dark themes and violent content with some silly stuff - I'm looking forward to seeing the after scenes with the mascot! The choices sound like they'll be really engaging too. I'll definitely have to check out the kicks...

Re: Unsound Minds: The Clarevine Epoch [18+][Gore][GxG][Dark][Lovecraftian][Christianity]

This sounds like exactly the kind of thing I like! I love the general concept of Lovecraft's works, and I love when people take inspiration from that and add all kinds of other things. I'm really interested to see how combining that with some aspects of Christian mythology will work out! The charact...

The Light at the End of the Ocean [Friendship][Ontological Mystery][Point-and-Click][Commercial]

The Light at the End of the Ocean A young woman wakes up in a lighthouse with a head injury and no memory of the shipwreck that brought her there—or anything else, for that matter. A stone-faced, stoic Lighthouse Keeper assures her that help will arrive soon, but seems unwilling or unable to help h...

Re: Question about CG's

I'd say that it makes sense to have a CG if what's happening in the story can't be conveyed with just sprites moving around and changing expressions. For example, if there's an action scene or something, it's way better to see a CG of the characters fighting than to just see the normal sprites or ba...
