Alright. I fixed it. You were both right. Had to resize my canvas to get rid of the excess space. Worked just fine after that.

Yeah like Imperf3kt said, it depends on your screen size. For bg's just make the canvas the same size as your console screen. Even drawing characters I make my canvas the same size as the screen also so you know exactly how it's going to look on screen when you add your sprites in. Helps alot. Hope ...

Ah dang I feel dumb. Thank you. It was a bg in a scene. It wasn't placed in the gui folder but the game folder. Moving it to the image folder fixed the problem. Geez idk why I didn't realize that earlier lol thank you again.
