Re: Opinions on my art.
ONE made One Punch Man and Mob Psycho 100 with art like this: https://img-9gag-fun.9cache.com/photo/azjgLvB_460s.jpg Draw the comic you want to draw with what you have. If it's interesting, people will read it. If you want to draw faster, do gesture drawings. One minute at the ABSOLUTE MAXIMUM amoun...

Re: Hello, fellow living beings! How do you like the combination of such different background and character art styles?
The style of the character and background isn't so different that it'll be distracting, but the caveat is if you continue to keep the characters and background styles consistent with what you have now. If you want to make the scene a bit more cohesive, adjust the background to be warmer/more yellow ...

One way to make an ambiguous illness work can be that the patient doesn't want to talk about or acknowledge it. The natural progression becomes that trying to know more about the illness against their wishes makes the character feel violated, and can result in a bad ending.

Re: Thoughts on this style? Also, what can be improved?
The main issue here is that the values are inconsistent. When you preview your work in greyscale (fill a layer with black and set layer blending to Color), the face disappears into the hair and the black clothing is VERY dark: https://imgur.com/sMQliE5.jpg 1) The quickest fix is to ink the character...

Along with the good points Lynn and Cat brought up, I'd also like to add that A will always be more resource-intensive than B in both money and time.

Re: Suggestion for my drawing plzzzzz
Honestly, I think you have a really good start! The overall color palette is strong and you seem to have a pretty good instinct for choosing colors. There are, however, two things I think you should keep in mind when polishing up your work. One is value range.Value issues can be caught by checking v...

Re: Integration of Story and RPG-Like Gameplay
I'm gonna go against the grain and say that if the battle system is only there to act as filler, get rid of it for now . If you can find another reason for it to exist other than to waste a someone's time until the next story beat, then add it back in. Putting in time and effort into features that g...

Re: Adobe Illustrator- best default canvas for doing a background picture?
Unlike Photoshop, I suggest making the artboard the same size as the final resolution of the project. It'll be easier to export quickly, especially if you need to run a script for batch export on multiple files/artboards.

Re: How to advertise yourself as a programmer?
1. If I were to offer myself as a paid programmer, how much should I charge/how often? Hourly? Daily? I suggest figuring out an hourly rate. If you want to charge by day, figure out how many hours you'll be working per day and multiply your hourly rate by the number of hours you will work on the pr...

Re: How can I get volunteers to make faster progress on a game?
To be frank, I would only use free labor if it's either someone who can do it well owes me big, or if the thing I'm asking for is disposable. Making a game that relies heavily on volunteer work sounds like a one way street to development hell. When someone's working for free, you have absolutely no ...

Would it be difficult to create a raster image of the word and insert it in the text string?

Re: How much should you pay a musician?
I did a bit of Googling and searching r/gamedev on Reddit and $25 doesn't seem to buy you even one minute :/
It looks like rates start at $50 per minute, but I also know people on Lemmasoft tend to undersell themselves by quite a bit compared to industry standard pay.

What's the resolution of the game, and where will the textbox be located? The bedroom background may be a bit too low and get covered up. You can zoom in and scoot it up to fill the empty space at the top for a quick fix. I'm not exactly qualified to talk in depth about color, so I'll leave these ar...

Re: How do you pay for Kickstarter assets?
Short answer: You need to come up with the money. Extended answer: If you went through with your Kickstarter plan, how are you going to pay people for their work if it fails? If you don't have the budget for an artist, do it yourself. If you can't, learn. If it's taking too long to learn, then get t...
