Re: Is Lemmesoft Dying

I also help to run and set up a Renpy Facebook group, and I really like that for the ease of posting images, videos and rich links. When ever I want to post images here it is a real pain, I have to resize them, upload to Google Photos, and use a website to individually convert the Google photos lin...

Re: Issue with play voice and queue voice with translation

Hmm. Might be a bug, honestly, but it seems to work fine if you add _() around the string: e.g., voice _("blahblah.ogg") Thanks for your time and help and thanks for the tip about the _(), indeed I think I had issues with screens before when I didn't add brackets. Right now the plain old voice tag ...

Re: Issue with play voice and queue voice with translation

Something that would help address this same issue, there are also a few images that I would ideally change for translations because they are text based. Perhaps if I could get identifier codes for every line I would be able to replace those images/lines of code with: translate japanese labelname_IDC...

Re: issue with play voice and queue voice with translation

ugly ugly ugly workaround: Main code: label win: queue voice "well done.ogg" voice "well done.ogg" The second voice one doesn't get played in the English version for whatever reason started this whole problem (the preceding play sound file command perhaps?), but is translated and passed onto Japanes...

Issue with play voice and queue voice with translation

Hi all, I am trying to fix a bug in a translation of a game, it is a label that is called to frequently that plays a voice file. Unfortunately, when the voiced part is just coded as: voice "filename.ogg" It shows up in the translation file but it doesn't play for either the original or the translate...

The first Music Creation Tool, which let me to make music. Very easy to use and it's open source, too. Bosca Ceoil: https://boscaceoil.net/ Thanks for this! Bosca ceoil comes from Irish, which is interesting to me as I am Irish. I have Ardour now, but it has been so long since I used it that I have...

Re: General Practitioner [Simulation] [Visual Novel]

I haven't played the demo yet, but I remember seeing you post about this before and thinking that the concept is really cool. I think it is a really interesting project. I'm not sure how the dating element works, I haven't read your posts in depth, often these types of games are either one or the ot...

Re: Conditional formatting for Japanese Langauge

I don’t know anything about Japanese, but you could implement the tweaks in your third example using the Python Style class... https://www.renpy.org/doc/html/style.html?highlight=style#Style Thanks so much for the reply! I've had success with what feels like an ineloquent/flawed solution. So far it...

[partial solution] Conditional formatting for Japanese Langauge

So, I am in the process of adding a Japanese translation for a game, I wanted to add Furigana (ruby text) as this is a game for children. However, when I added the line leading formatting, it applies to all translations, which causes problems. I've tried a few things, but haven't found a way that wo...

Re: Voiceover

I experimented with a lot of things to try and achieve something like Karaoke in a recent game. I did not, however, put a hard pause on the lines, which I know is something that PyTom has been vocal about being opposed to, the idea being that people should be able to skip ahead if they wish to. You ...

Information for those who monetize the game through the display of advertising AdMob. From January 23, 2018, support for AdMob SDK versions lower than 7.0.0 is terminated. In other words, your advertisement will NOT work if you have connected it with this well-known instruction. Details written her...

Re: Looking for a mobile porter/ publisher

Do you want to pay for your own Google Play and App store shop front or publish to someone else's? Google Play is affordable but I believe iOS has an initial cost of 99 dollars and a recurring cost of 99 dollars per year. Perhaps we could split the costs? I have published a few titles to Google Play...
