Re: Disabling Animations made with ATL?

There might well be better ways... ATL can use python functions which, if they return a numeric value are repeatedly called after that many seconds and if they return None are bypassed, so: init python: def atl_can_run(*args): if persistent.atl_allowed: # test some persistent value return None retur...

Re: Can you integrate Lua code in Ren'py scripts?

You would need to write an abstraction layer (likely in Python) to interpret the Lua (or other language syntax) and then call/use the relevant Python or Ren'Py functions/classes/methods. In essence, you'd need to learn Python to do that and then do more work creating the interpreter than just contin...

Re: imagebutton without using screens?

Code: Select all

    show expression ImageButton('images/eileen.png', clicked=Notify('ding'), xpos=200)
The ImageButton class is a tad different to just screen language imagebutton though... find it in renpy/display/behavior.py

Re: is there an easy way of keeping the class attrebutes after reload?

You should use default rather than define default var = value # set a default which is only ran if the variable does not exist in the store define var = value # set an immutable value (a value we do not expect to change) which is ran at each game init. As it is not expected to change, Ren'Py does no...

Re: Modified viewport scrolling

You *could* use a periodic callback or step ATL through to a python function to adjust the x/yadjustments based on mouse position. Basic example (note you will want to tweak the math to suit (the viewport adjustment versus actual screen pos bit)) init python: def py_move_vp(trans, st, at): # The tra...

Re: menu problem

The error points at different syntax than you have shown in your example

menu menuzacatekzlataky():

Note the () ... You certainly do Not want that.
If your .rpy actually names the menu without using () I would suggest a Force Recompile in the Launcher

Re: Do I need to define all the attributes in a class?

You might benefit from reading through https://lemmasoft.renai.us/forums/viewtopic.php?f=51&t=47911 It uses the character namespace to allow a Stats instance to sit next to the ADVCharacter instance and have the single reference reflect both (basically you can write - e "Hello World" and e.might += ...

Re: Is it possible to use a FOR loop to display tiles in screen language?

I would advise calculating both the x and y for each image individually and just have all of those as separate items in a single fixed. A basic example that just does a checkerboard of 50x50 squares... screen Gameboard(): fixed: xpos 200 ypos 100 for y in xrange(8): for x in xrange(8): add Solid('#0...

Re: Viewports: edgescroll and ui.adjustment() workaround?

The problem is that you are not actually redrawing the entire screen when you drag or scroll, so even if you had the viewport x position the overlay would not naturally update. I'd suggest using DynamicDisplayables (which update themselves even if screen isn't redrawn)... init python: def edge_gradi...

Re: $ renpy.show and image directory

with the name 'ch1 intro 1' on it which implies that persistent.filter is "" at that point and that there is no image that created that reference ... have you checked the folder ch1/intro/ (NOT ./home/) for images named just 1 and made sure there is only one (not a png and a jpg) I would advise a si...

Re: $ renpy.show and image directory

You could (for initial question) just change the way Ren'Py handles automatic image definition... Tell it to use folder names as tags or attributes, include underscores as separators and skip the folders 'images' and 'characters'... define config.automatic_images = [' ', '_', '/'] define config.auto...
