Re: Drake's Image-based Writing Requests

First, to Sapphi: Yeah, Gargarin is indeed a play on both. As I told a friend I sent the story to, I had to double up on Gar for Yuri (Gar-gar-in, you see). I think I did alright. As for this one, the context doesn't really suggest action, so I had no idea how to even start this one. So in actuality...

Re: OUYA - The console for $99 that supports Android

It's a really neat idea, for sure, but I think that's exactly what is being capitalized on. You should consider donating to this one only with a healthy dose of skepticism. As much as I'd love to see this thing work, Ben Kuchera of PA Report wrote a pretty telling article about all the problems area...

Re: Drake's Image-based Writing Requests

So this one is pretty damn ridiculous too. And somehow, I fell into the Super Shounen Power Hour or something. I'm not really complaining or anything, as these first two requests were fun, but maybe I can give an honest effort at 'funny' with the next request or the one after. I have to say this is ...

Re: Drake's Image-based Writing Requests

This was quite an honor, getting to write a sanctioned continuation of the war between these two men. So, I present to you, the most recent iteration of the unending saga of revenge, vengeance, and revengeance. Official Soundtrack: Here (single track) Original Scenario, for the curious: Here Mugen n...

Drake's Image-based Writing Requests

I'm a little hesitant to do this because I have a pretty terrible work ethic. But that's the reason that I feel I *should* do this, so bear with me. Following in the footsteps of a few others in this subforum (kaleidofish, Argeus_the_Paladin, etc.), since it looked like a really neat idea, I will be...

Re: [Group Play 3] Quine

Quine is an anthem. In the infancy of the EVN development scene, a short and charming title called Quine was released during one of the busiest months for EVN production the community had seen to date. It served as an encouraging message to the developers battling through the gauntlet that is NaNoRe...

Re: Death Rule:The First Rule [Survival/Trust][DEMO]

I had this demo on my hard drive for a short while, and managed to find some time I didn't mind spending on it yesterday. The "Survival Game" genre is something we could easily afford to see more of, as it's barely been touched in the EVN realm as far as I remember. I definitely have a str...

Re: Group Plays

Does it make sense to lock the GP threads when the week is over? I don't think we want to have two threads per game going on indefinitely. I don't really see any gain with locking the older threads. The old thread post frequency will die out naturally irregardless, and the first GP thread title is ...

Re: [Group Play 1] My Life as a Water Droplet

This was a very good choice to kick off this group play project. Short, accessible. I think it's pretty lucky we got this for the debut. The game gets a little silly and ridiculous at times, but in some ways, it really works in its favor. The tone is pitch-perfect. There's something very young about...

Re: I need help with my course project.

What was the first visual novel you played? It's been so long, I couldn't even remember... probably an early Insani translated title... Near the front of the pack would be Narcissu, which is probably the most memorable of the early frontrunners in my long history. What do you like the most about vi...

Re: The Elevator [futuristic suspense/slice of life]

The aspect I really like about this story is the tone. Always somber and mostly dreary. David carries with him a constant sense of defeat, constantly ruminating and ruminating over his grisly memories, trying to look for an angle that'd let him grasp a piece of where Avery's unwavering purpose and c...

Re: Looking for Sylph and Blade engines

If I remember correctly, Slyph was the custom engine that MAB Studios used for their games. I believe there was promise of a release of an SDK for the public, but I don't know if it was ever fulfilled. I don't get the impression it was, though I could be wrong or misremembering... But there's little...

Re: Default names

I generally keep to the default names, but since you brought up FF9, I always decide to keep Garnet's name as Garnet instead of Dagger or whatever it is she wants to change it to. I just think it's stupid, and never really took to the new name. I'm often stuck at naming screens for characters in gam...
