Re: Roadwarden [Fantasy/RPG Elements/Pixel Art] [DEMO]

Hello, hello! It was a busy week and I think I should start writing devlogs about the game’s development, highlighting new features and the general progress. I’d like to share the first post like this starting next week. : ) The coolest part of this week, however, was working on the new picture for ...

Re: Roadwarden [Fantasy/RPG Elements/Pixel Art] [DEMO]

I love it when a game slowly moves from place holders to the actual graphics. Here you can see the first part of the game’s map - the large “objects” are icons allowing you to select the area you want to visit. Heavily inspired by Baldur’s Gate. ; ) If you think it can still look better, I’ll be hap...

Re: Roadwarden [Fantasy/RPG Elements/Pixel Art] [DEMO]

Haha, cheers! I'm not sure where the question about fullscreen comes from. The game is meant to be played on fullscreen, 1920x1080 resolution, but if someone is going to resize the game to half the size, I won't forbid them.

King of Dragon Pass looks sick!

Re: Roadwarden [Fantasy/RPG Elements/Pixel Art] [DEMO]

Thank you! I'm interested in worldbuilding for many years now, I even joined forces with Worldbuilding Magazine and some other "places" a couple of times, and the setting that I'm using for Roadwarden is something I've been working on for over 10 years... My main problem is not even to invent new th...

Roadwarden [Fantasy/RPG Elements/Pixel Art] [DEMO]

Roadwarden is an interactive fiction in which you explore and change a hostile, grim realm. prologue.png Everyone knows to stay away from the wilderness. Most people would never risk a lonely journey. Roadwardens not only accept this struggle, they embrace it. They deliver messages, assist merchant...

Re: My Choice Menu doesn't refresh after it's shown (and it's very important to me that it does)

Thank you, Rames! This is a similar diagnose to the one I'm thinking of. I actually tried to do something like what you've described, not exactly the same, but it resembles it, I think. I tried to add the entire screen with buttons to my "choices" screen (which is also a part of the NVL screen, thou...

Re: My Choice Menu doesn't refresh after it's shown (and it's very important to me that it does)

Thank you! Yes, I did set the default value, and I keep seeing in the dev console that the numbers are changing as intended. I just created a new project to make sure I can reproduce the problem that I have and indeed, it exists even in the very basic version. The variable changes, but the menu does...

Re: My Choice Menu doesn't refresh after it's shown (and it's very important to me that it does)

Hi! I basically want the menu to refresh itself and re-decide which dialogue options to display based on the new variable value. So if I display a menu and it has a "Hidden Choice" in it as long as at_friendly == 0, but a player changes the value of at_friendly to 1 through a different screen, I wan...

My Choice Menu doesn't refresh after it's shown (and it's very important to me that it does)

Greetings! The problem I have is absolutely crucial for me and if I won't be able to solve it, my entire design will have to be changed significantly. I was hoping that you could try to help me, I really tried for hours now and looking for answers didn't change anything at all. Here are two simple b...

Re: Tales From Windy Meadow [Fantasy/Slice of life/Pixel Art] [Steam]

A fantasy website Exilian made an interview with me ! We talk in it about Tales From Windy Meadow, more specifically, topics like: writing about characters that struggle with mental and physical disadvantages, the world in which the game is set, the development struggles (a small postmortem?), the s...

[Solved] How to get rid of the "[u'" when I call a variable from another variable?

Greetings! I'm building a journal for my game. When I create a custom message to show, it works perfectly fine. But when I complicate things a bit, I get an entry like this: [u' here goes what I actually want to have displayed ] . I would like to somehow remove these red parts. I assume they are bas...

and allow you to replay the relevant voice clip from the history.
This, once again, is very valuable for me. I actually always turn off voice actors in VNs, so it didn't even come to my mind.
