Re: Art Dumpage! Show your art ^^

Not really VN related, but could possibly be in the future. I illustrated a scene from my husband's story (It's super tough to get out of him. He doesn't talk about it to anyone by me, and he refuses to write it down, even though it's a very well thought out storyline) of two of the main characters,...

Re: Creative ways to show legs and footwear

I would definitely use CGs for those scenes. Unless it's a chibi, a full body sprite would look a bit awkward up on the screen, unless you make the text box or anything else that might be on the screen disappear for the scene. Otherwise, I think Morg's suggestion of panning the screen down would be ...

Re: How did you learn to draw?

I taught myself. I loved drawing from a young age and I would try to copy what I saw in real life. Then I was introduced to Pokemon and Miyazaki. That's why I fell in love with the anime style. I traced a few pictures in the beginning around age 9, but I hated not being able to create something full...

Re: Art Dumpage! Show your art ^^

Forgot to share this here. There's a breakdown of this piece on my ArtStation which includes all the various passes I rendered for it + close-up isolated renders of objects from the scene. Can't be bothered scaling all of them to 800px wide lol. Commissioned by Lupiesoft for The Stargazers (they ha...

Re: How often does one person create a full VN by themselves?

Basically, it's certainly possible, but often it's not the best course of action to make an entire thing yourself. Sometimes it's faster and easier not to. Usually people who do entire games themselves do it out of personal fulfillment rather than because it's more economical. Honestly, I do think ...

Re: How often does one person create a full VN by themselves?

As one can see with my finished solo project P&Y (click link below to check it out.) there will always be at least one thing lacking. Let me add upon the list you mentioned earlier by extending it to: Writer , proofreader, sprite artist, CG artist, background artist, programmer , composer, voice ac...

Re: How often does one person create a full VN by themselves?

Off the top of my head, games I've played by one person include the Ex Astris series by Cera. http://www.cerastudios.com/ex-astris/ Everything by Donmai--But especially The One in Love. https://games.renpy.org/developer/294 The work of Saguaro...especially Locked-In. I'm looking into them. Thank you!

Re: How often does one person create a full VN by themselves?

For serious projects (big, medium, or small), as much as some (or most?) of us here would like to do everything on our own, it's just too much work and learning a new skill takes time. Of course, where there's a will, there's a way. * - keep in mind "quality" is a pretty subjective term. What large...

How often does one person create a full VN by themselves?

New here. I've been playing around with Ren'py for about a year or so, and just happened to stumble across this forum only now. After looking through all the various forums and getting a feel for the place, I became curious on how often a high-quality VN is created and released by a single person (i...

Re: LGBT visual novels- How do you like your endings?

I think the best way to write a LGBT VN (or ANY story, for that matter) is to not make LGBT the theme of it. Straight people don't define themselves as straight either (they define themselves as whatever influences their daily life the most - their job, their role in the family...), so an LGBT stor...
