Re: How do you make expressions

Thank Jak
That does make sense actually. So do you make the expressions directly on the computer or do you draw them on paper first?

How do you make expressions

Well I've been trying to figure this out.You know how with most renai games you have different expressions for each character but usually the body dosen't change simply the character's expression.I've been trying to figure out how you do that.Did you have to trace the same character over and over wi...

Re: Look, Touch, Speak, Use system in Ren'py engine??

It can be done using the UI functions. Now is it appropriate? I'd say it depends on how much adventure there will be and how much narration & dialogues there will be. Basically, you'll probably be able to do it in Ren'Py anyway, but the more you want it to be like an adventure/investigation gam...

Look, Touch, Speak, Use system in Ren'py engine??

I was thinking about making one of those games where you can kind of investigate things that you see in the room. You know like you have several options like Look, Touch, Speak.I really want to do it in ren'py but I'm not sure if it's the right format to do it in. I wanted to have the Look, Touch Spe...

Re: Midis won't play on my game

Cool I guess that does make sense then. You don't need people emailing you all day about their system crashing.I found a program that makes it pretty easy to make ogg files from midis. Thanks again guys

Re: Midis won't play on my game

Well thank you so much for your help.I'll get back in touch with him right away.

Was there some programming issue that caused the change in ren'py to stop midi support?
I mean I've never even heard of this ogg format before now.

Re: Midis won't play on my game

Converting midi is not that simple. You have to "render" them using soundfonts. It's similar to 3D modeling... the actual "vector" information is a small filesize, but the final render may take longer. I have to know whether these are just midis you grabbed off the web or someth...

Re: Midis won't play on my game

denzil wrote:Midi support was removed from Ren'Py some time ago. It won't play them anymore.
If you want to play them you have to convert them into .mp3 or .ogg
I found a program called Vorbis that plays .Ogg files but do you know of any programs that convert midi files to .ogg files?

Re: Who owns what?

Well the way I figure it when you make a game with several people you are making a collabrative work. The code would mean nothing without the art and the whole thing would probally be very boring with good writing and music. So since you came into this as a group you should be paid as a group.

Re:

But generally, I don't really like warning screens and such. Definitely not in the game, and I don't like them in installers either. My approach is to inform (not warn) what content can be present - in a readme perhaps, or on the site. But this is my personal approach - for the purposes of the RAA,...

Anyone know where I can get backgrounds

I haven't been to this site in a long time.I'm alright with drawing characters but I'm not good at drawing backgrounds so I was looking for a place to download some.I remember there being a site where you could download backgrounds from other bishojo games but when I checked my favorites links I cou...

You've got a Point

Still Gamesmaster, MIDI is not always an extension of that. Understand that the individuals that don't make money off of MIDI are those that make it in the form of music that can be found in copyrighted products. You are bound to find people who make MIDI for profit, that are complete of their own ...
