Re: Dissolve Transition

That's really helpful! Is there a way to do it in reverse (have them go on screen that way?)

LayeredImage Won't Show a Layer

This is the code for the person: layeredimage dollmaker: always: "dollmaker_base" group eyes auto: attribute normal default: "dollmaker blink" attribute halfshut: "dollmaker halfshut blink" attribute screwedup: "dollmaker_eyes_screwedup" attribute closed: "dollmaker_eyes_closed" attribute averted: "...

Dissolve Transition

I've noticed in some games, the characters will dissolve while moving, like in Zodiac Axis's demo-- ZodiacAxisex.gif And Butterfly Soup: ButterflySoupex.gif (To view the gifs properly you may need to click on them..) How would you achieve this effect in Ren'Py? Both games ARE Ren'Py games, so I know...

Re: Persistent Character?

This helped a lot! The character's appearance doesn't really affect much, so I don't think it's much of an issue. Thank you very much!

Re: Line indented, but preceding condition properties statement does not expect a block

Would this work for the entire stretch of code, though? The thing about that is that there are 6 different races and it depends on the choices the player makes in game-- they pick the gender and then the race.

Line indented, but preceding condition properties statement does not expect a block

I'm sorry, but errors were detected in your script. Please correct the errors listed below, and try again. File "game/images.rpy", line 6: Line is indented, but the preceding condition properties statement does not expect a block. Please check this line's indentation. "jesse_base_1" ^ Ren'Py Versio...

Persistent Character? [SOLVED]

I want to have a layeredimage character that will persist even if the game is restarted in a different manner. What I mean is, you design the character to have black hair, green eyes, a blue shirt, etc, and the game will begin a certain way. Once you restart the game, the game will start differently...

Unexpected EOF While Parsing [solved]

I'm trying to make a confirm screen to continue the game; so I have this code: call screen confirm(message="Choosing this option will mean you will not be able to continue exploring. Continue anyway?", yes_action=jump alister_fireplace, no_action=jump alister_1_search) When I try to run this line of...

Re: Cannot show LayeredImage side image alone

Yes; but to show any expression changes you have to say 'show', which doesn't work. But I think if I just use ConditionSwitch it should be fine.

Re: Cannot show LayeredImage side image alone

The issue is I cannot change expressions on the sprite; I used the second method but there is no way to display expression changes without showing the actual sprite.

Cannot show LayeredImage side image alone

What I am trying to do is I have a LayeredImage character that is only meant to be a side character. They do NOT show up onscreen. However, I don't know how to code that into a game without the actual sprite (the LayeredImage that the LayeredImage proxy for the side image uses) also showing up. Does...

LayeredImage expects a non-empty Block. [SOLVED]

My code for the layeredimage in question is: layeredimage doll: always "doll_base" if skin == 1: "doll_skin_light" elif skin == 2: "doll_skin_asian" elif skin == 3: "doll_skin_tan" elif skin == 4: "doll_skin_dark" group outfit: attribute 1 if hair == 1: "doll_hair_blonde" elif hair == 2: "doll_hair_...

Customizable Sprites that are Separate [SOLVED]

I wish to have two sprites in my game. One will move/blink/otherwise emote, and the other will not, but they both look the exact same based on how the unmoving one is customized. Is that possible to code? (The sprites both have six hair colors, six eye colors, and four skin tones to choose from.) Th...

CGs Based on Characters

The main character in my game is customizable; and with six options for the hair, six for the eyes, and four for skin tone, it makes it rather difficult to draw CGs. Would it be possible to somehow change the CG based on how the main character looks? I know LiveComposite is an option, but I am using...
