Re: Character Artist - Sprites/CGs - Open!

Bump! I am open once more for projects!

I'll try and update the post with more examples soon, though the commissions I sadly can't show off my recent commission work yet.

Re: Different artstyles, storytelling and commercial viabili

Hmm, I suppose some kind of surveying might be necessary, maybe by using some of those different types of games as a starting point? Look into articles about them on different gaming sites, and try and see what kind of demographics follow those and play the games? I haven't had time to look into man...

Re: Different artstyles, storytelling and commercial viabili

I suppose in the end it depends on what market and demographics you are aiming for. There are plenty of narrative VN-like games that are not anime-styled at all, and you might find they have a whole different kind of audience that wouldn't touch something like Nekopara, for instance. It's probably w...

Re: What is importan in a character?

Character.

That's a bit simplified, but the most important part is not names or looks. It's their personalities, their mannerisms, their feelings and thoughts. The things that make them real people.

Re: Developer Blogs?

I mostly use my twitter for development info bits (along with random chatter), but sometimes my tumblr has art updates and wips. It might be more fitting for this.

Re: Top examples of Kinectic vn?

The classic, Planetarian! It uses pretty much all the things a normal vn does, apart from choices. What makes you want to finish is just the story and characters being intriguing enough to make you want to know what happens, I guess. I'd give more interesting and innovative examples, but can't reall...

Character Artist - Sprites/CGs - Closed!

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/11716886/banner.png I am now open to character art commissions for visual novels! This is the first time I have posted details specifically for these types of illustrations, so the prices may change with time as I get better idea of things. But for now, they are ...

Re: Renpy game on disc - preferred method?

Heh, probably not. I'm just making a few for an artist alley table I'll be running soon, and will be adding steam keys along with them as well anyway. Maybe they can use the disc as a coaster? ;)

Thanks for the answers though :)

Re: Renpy game on disc - preferred method?

If I want it to be accesible for more than just windows users, would it be ok to use something like NSIS and maybe also include the .zip file for those who would just copy it over then?

Re: Renpy game on disc - preferred method?

That's not a bad idea!

What about everyone else? Do you think this would work well from a casual player's perspective too, or are there better ways of doing it?
